Peter Eve Posted July 14, 2011 Share Posted July 14, 2011 This engine has been passed to me by the son of a deceased, very enthusiastic modeller, together with an almost virtually completed Boulton paul Balliol. Unfortunately, the engine, which has been superbly adapted to have working Merlin exhausts, has lost its needle. First step to getting one seems to be to know what I'm asking for - and maybe, if anyone knows, where to get it! So here are a couple of pics of the logo on the side and the empty needle orafice. Peter Eve Posted July 16, 2011 Author Share Posted July 16, 2011 Thanks, Tim, I hadn't come across HP engines but, unfortunately, having followed your link, it seems this one is the 4 bolt head model which is no longer supported by spares from that company. I guess a new carb might be the answer and Just Engines are just down the road. Maybe a replacement engine would be the easy option - unless anyone is hiding a needle anywhere. Pigs might fly!
