Bozzle
Hi there, I am new to flying, have joined my local club and am thinking about building a Nutball as they seem very simple to build and easy to fly. (I already have a dx6i and a wot 4 foam e which is proving rather lively and which I do not want to wreck.) I have recomendations from a member for: Engine/ESC/servos/prop/receiver/ batteries The question is what else will I need. I have come up with: control horns clevis pushrod snap connectors pushrod??? shrink tube gold connectors 2mm? micro server connector leads platic parts set(hinges) Are there standard sizes for pudshrods/clevis/connectore bearing in mind I am looking at light electric gliders Anything else I will need? Finally can you advise best glue for both depron and polystyrene. Any help would be much appreciated.
WolstonFlyer
Hi Bozzle Use "UHU Por" glue on Depron. You use it like a contact adhesive with a bit on both surfaces and allow it to dry then stick together. The foam will snap before the glue joint fails. Hope this build video helps! Bozzle
Wolston, many thanks for your help. Anybody got any ideas whether a glue gun wil work on depron/polystyrene?
Mowerman
Glue gun will work on depron but is heavy. I have used Pritt power gel with reasonable results on the nutball I built. Mine flew well, great fun for little outlay. The prit is available from most stationers and supermarkets.
fly boy3
Hi Bozzle,I always use UHU glue for Depron. Not taking any thing away from the Nutball, seems great fun, but if you are new to flying, may I suggest you put Pipe Lagger into the search box (Keyword). These Tom Wright designs are very simple, about £25 for all materials, Lipo.Esc, servos etc. I would say also a far less bit and bobs count than the Nutball. See the flying videos great stuff for beginners to old hands. Just a suggestion pal.
