Chuck Plains
Decided to reduce my Bixler's tip dihedral after some interesting moments in gusty wind today. If I hadn't been messing with the camera the whole thing would have taken less than 10 mins. I simply allowed each wing's own weight to do the bending, assisted by a Philips SalonDry Active Ion (2000w) hair drier. After each heating session, i rubbed over the heated area with a cold steel ruler to reduce the bubbly surface effect. Not that I'm too worried about a heroically battle scarred trainer plane. Maiden flight of new wing tips may not happen till next weekend due to weather. ----- Held down with my Lipo storage box Angled off the bench. Fuse end before. Half way. Had to clamp it to heat up the underside for the second stage. After. Job done.
