Cpt Biggles
Hi AllI have just bought a second hand plane and with it came a 35MHz Rx.Now on a range check it would appear that there is a problem with the range. When i put a tape on the ariel it is only 24" long but my own Rx has an aerial 39" long.Q: has some bright spark cut the aerial or could it be made that length and the Rx tuned to the shorter aerialI would like to say that I have spotted this before flying the plane BUTIt was after landing the plane (in one piece) having suffered an inpromptue full down elevator dive that i looked for why. regards
Tim Mackey
They can vary across brands etc - post details of which Rx it is and someone will post the data.
Brian Parker
24inches is not a true harmonic at 35MhzYour 39inch antenna was probably just cut to a 1metre length (just under 8th wavelength). For 8th wave length at 35 Mhz use a 42 inch length of wire.
