Alex Leigh
Dumb labrador puppy (10 months) decided he didn't want to be inside while my wife unloaded our new chickens. When he was a (smaller) pup, he used to squeeze through the catflap. Now he's not quite so small but apparently looking quite pleased with himself. Now as a man becoming skilled with model repair, I'm looking at that, and then looking at balsa/ply/epoxy/carbon spars/hacksaws/bits of broken aircraft and thinking "What would the MF forum say" I'm looking for an innovative solution here using those type of materials. Come on cheer me up, I've just found how much a new catflap costs!

flytilbroke
Build a plane with the materials and swap the dog for a cat.
Alex Leigh
Oh the pup got out alright. He was extremely pleased to be out as well apparently. We've rebuilt the door and installed a spare cat flap. I can vouch for the strength of five minute epoxy. I did just pull back from installing a carbon spar! We've got a cat, it spends its' time hating the dog!
Delta Whiskey
Wife insisted I go with her to watch the new film Marley & Me, it was a very tough film in that it was very hard to keep your emotiions in check, we both failed, and so did most of the cinema audiance! lots of
Alex Leigh
My daughter loved that book. I bought it for her when we got the Lab. Now she wants to see the film, and I don't! I'll just be blubbing at the end!
Bruce Richards
I had a similar experience and smashed cat flap earlier this week. We have 2 cats and we set the flap so the could come in but not get out (we wanted the in). However, a large feral cat came in to eat their food leftovers. I surprised it in the act but before I go anywhere near it it had totality destroyed the cat flap and was gone. I is interesting how strong these small animals can be when scared. Delta Whiskey
Yeah I had to do the same, my dog a flat coated retriever, was fine using the cat flap as a pup and one day she got stuck, so fitted a dog flap, it's good they (cat as well) can go in and out when they like! Alex Leigh
If I let the dog out, I'd never see the wandering so and so again. He's got a bit of wanderlust at the moment. I'm hoping he'll grow out of it, but signs are not good!

Paul Course
Mine was the same so I had a little chat and showed him how it worked but he didn't take any notice, just walked away mumbling that he didn't want his mates to know he swung both ways. Now the dog that's another story.
Lima Hotel Foxtrot
The cat flap: Allegedly invented by Sir Isaac Newton. More or less useful than his laws of motion/theory of gravity/calculus etc? You decide.
