Tim Morton
I know it may be a stupid question but thought I'd ask anyway. Can one ship fuel in a container of personal goods home? Provided of course it is properly packed and stored etc. We are moving back to the UK and I've a bunch of fuel that I was hoping to keep... Is it really any different from shipping say wine or whisky? It is after all mainly methanol which is only really wood alchohol. Are there any legal issues involved? andy watson
There will certainly be issues regarding the flammable nature of the fuel. Best check with the carrier- the alternative is to have an accident and find their insurance won't pay out.
Roger Auker
A fellow flier recently left here (Dubai) for Trinidad and the shippers refused to allow fuel to be in the container along with the household items. He gave it all away and I managed to score a couple of gallons of fuel for the price of a cup of coffee, now that can't be bad.
