scott cuppello
You need to be careful not to twist the casing in any way, particularly with that fan unit as the impellor rubs at the best of times. A reduction cone can be made from something like a large polystyrene coffee cup [Starbucks....on second thoughts, the coffee will cost too much!]. I would use 2 x ply strips and screw the fan on to those to avoid excess casing distortion. In that particular fan, I hope you are using a low kv motor! scott cuppello
Seriously, nothing higher than around 2800kv if you use an in-runner, maybe a little higher [3200kv-ish] on an out-runner....this fan is an amp monster and the impellor doesn't like high rpm...it melts.
