fly boy3
Hi all, first posting, hope its in the correct place. The Astro Hog 40 wing dihedral looks rather large to me(about 3inches) on the plan. Would re -ducing it some what, lead to easier club type aerobatics. Thanking you -Fly Boy3
Evan Pimm
In a word...no. Yes, I know it looks a lot, but it just doesn't seem to notice it. What the dihedral will do, once the model is trimmed properly, is allow to use the rudder as a flight control, as the full size one can steer around the sky reasonably tidily 'rudder only'. I have flown other modellers 'flat wing' versions, and most of them were pretty nasty flying machines, mind you they used foam wings too, which does not help. Stick to the original ideas, the guys that designed the original, way back, knew what they were doing, probably much more than the average 'club expert ' does nowadays. You will not be disappointed.Evan.
fly boy3
Thanks Evan ill stick to the drawing as you suggest. The reason for the question was that the 1st AHog I built flew great ,but it was hard work in rolls, loops etc.Thinking back it may have been due to lack of movement on the control surfaces, as no throws were shown on the plan or write up.Perhaps this time I will use rates with more movement etc. Thanks again flyboy 3..
