001 Posted October 21, 2009 Share Posted October 21, 2009 From what I see of the retail business, from the outside, many of the old dedicated model aeroplane shops are closing down, or are gradually changing over to, almost exclusively, model railway layouts and rolling stock or r/c boats and ships. (I am ignoring the plastic 1/72 etc. kit model market). Yet the 'New' specialist home e-flight suppliers are seemingly expanding their business via the internet. Does that mean that boats and railways are more profitable, or that the existing traditional aeroplane shops have failed to change with the times and that the owners and staff lack the specialised knowledge and IT structure that they need today?
