retail prices
jack lackmaker replied to jack lackmaker's topic in R/C Retailers / Distributors / Manufacturers
i am not talking about buying from abroad only about buying from the retailers in this country when i see a price on a site as a special offer and then check the recomended retail price from the english importer i do not expect to pay considerably more for it after all a offer price is allways reconised as being less not more. -
has any one else noticed that some of the so called offer prices are in fact more than the recomended prices of the importers one such site is J.PERKINS. some of there prices are in fact cheaper than the offers on many of the sites i always was under the impression that a special offer was cheaper not dearer maybe im wrong.

hi i have just seen your posting and no this is not normal it looks like a faulty potentiometer this is why the dx6i were recalled
-
it is true what you say when it is bound but i do not think this is so while you are binding and you pick up someone else's transmission Edited By jack lackmaker on 06/05/2009 08:53:35

Budget 2.4Ghz FHSS for under 40
jack lackmaker replied to gliderpilot01's topic in Other Radio Brands
not enuf information is given on how vunerable you are while binding that you could bind to someone else's transmitter with disastrous results -
why is there no throttle kill switch on spectrum 2.4 transmitters so as to stop any chance of the motor starting up while binding it is not always obvious that someone else near bye is binding at the same time as you with the result that you have a uncontrollable model with the obvious dangers to your self and others

i had a word with horizon hobbys this morning about the dx6i recall and asked them when we will have them back they do not have an answer as the manufacturers have not given them an answer it could be months i did suggest that they could give us the choice of up dating to the 7i and we could pay towards it needless to say that went down like a lead brick they said the responsibility was with the model shop not them not a very satisfactory result by any manner of means .
-
please note there is a total recall for all the 6i transmitters with the listed codes they are not repairing them but are replacing them with new ones when they get them in stock
-
please be aware if you send your dx6i back to horizon for modifation they will not be repairing it but will replace it with a new one unfortunately they have not any stock and do not know when they will have it seems as if the fault is more serious than they first thought.

hi all i requested a copy of the bye laws of waltham forest and there was no mention any where of model planes they then sent me a copy of bye laws from other are implying if it is good enough for them then it is good enough for us they seemed to have forgot that bye laws have to be passed by the home office .one thing i found amusing was if you are not a model plane but full size in an emergency please contact the council first before you try to land.
