  1. Hi Ben  thanks for the leads - checked out Traplet and indeed it seems to be a great source of plans - pity there is no feedback etc. as to how the plans build-up/perform from people who actually built them. In any case I purchased 3 plans so I look fwd to getting stuck in to see if I can build any! Got plans for Pietenpol Aircamper, Airco DH.6 and a Fokker E.III - all electric. thanks again ronan ps will check out SLEC when I know what materials I need
  2. Hi everybody, I am new to model plane flying and have yet to receive my Easycub and Slowstick in the post. I would love to build some scale planes (Sopwiths etc.) in balsa for use with electric drives. Does anybody know of decent plan sets for WW1 and WW2 planes, in particular models such as the Sopwith Pup and Camel? If you have come across something in this regard, where did you buy them? Also, what is the best shop for buying general modelling materials and components for building models from plans. Finally, are there any good books on the subject thanks for any leads!
  3. Hi Dave (Adhby) I am totally new to model flying and in fact have not even received my Multiplex EasyCub in the post yet (from sussex-models). For me the hardest thing for a beginer is the sheer volume of products and technologies that are all competing for your investment. I found it very hard to konw what to by - glider, IC, electric, EDF etc. etc. Then there are all the different types of construction: balsa, plastics, foams. After deciding which general direction you want to go in then you have to try and decide on brands and models etc. As a newbie to this hobby there is alot of work to do in informing yourself of what is out there and trying to make and educated guess as to what will suit a learner best - I hope I have chosen correctly!!
