  1. From most of what i have read you have your answer,i bit of common sense goes a long way in most situations i find, plus always be nice and polite and if they don't first you start a conversation then that way there isn't no awkward silence,if that didn't work just say could you wait a moment and i'll land and then you can be off, then once they have you can then start flying again once it's safe too.wink 2

Most people respond well to kindness and manners and it cost nothing, don't take the stance it's them against me or there hobby over ours,as we are all out to enjoy ourselves are we not.

  2. As others have said HK does clearly state before we buy what we get charged,so it's down to us what method we decide to use,i for one never like using my credit card online and always use paypal when i can,i really do like PP and think there service is good, well it has been for me.

If i did have to use my credit card and i knew i had to pay £6 for the privilege,so be it as i said i knew before putting the order in,at the end of the day most of us that use HK do so for a good reason, mine is because they are so cheap and i can't buy what i'm after anywhere else as cheap, even with a £6 charge if i did use my credit card.wink

Very well put Andrew and i do hope it's nothing at the end of the day,but if your anything like me you will keep looking for something even though you know it's not there if you get what i mean. wink 2

Well thats what i'm like when it comes to my planes, take care mate and get that bad boy back in the air where it belongs.

  4. Any sort of Hints and Tips page would be great,no matter what sort as most of us could always do with seeing how other people go about this hobby of ours, building, flying, tools or even a how too,you name it i'd find it very interesting.

I bet even the very wise modelers would gain from it too, because we can always learn something new in this hobby, well i know i'm always picking up new tips/ideas when going through the many forums and Youtube of course. wink 2

  5. No i'm not going to give any advice as i don't have the model,it is a shame though because it is such a great looking and flying plane,i must admit i was surprised when i read it was a Hanger 9 plane giving you this head ache.

I hope you get someone who has one and can give you the advice or the mod you might need to sort her out.

If not try a google search and see if anything pops up,might be worth a try.smile

The main problem with buying from HK, is that you have to have patience with the delivery time ! And I'm short on that but I still buy from HK.

Not true if you buy from there UK warehouse, wink 2

Plus i buy from there international warehouse all the time and if you use EMS (express mail service) you can get your parcel in 7 days once it leaves the warehouse,i normally say to myself right i have a parcel on it's way and it should be with me in two weeks, that way when i get it before then i'm a happy chappy, there is always the ones that do come late because of customs/postal service but you can't put that down to HK.

I've just come of there website and everything seems to be working just fine for me Jonnor, and to try and put your mind at rest,i've had to many orders off HK in the last 5 years to count and i've only ever had one problem with HK,there CS sorted it out in 24 hours to my satisfaction i might add.

I've only had a couple of orders off of there UK branch which was the Durafly SE5a (what a great plane)and that was on my door step with in the time frame that i picked when completing the order (24 Hours) once it left the UK warehouse,i made another order this Friday which was the AXN floater which will be with me on Tuesday if the tracking is to be believed and i don't see why it wouldn't,it would of been here this Monday but for our Bank holiday so i'll have to wait until Tuesday, which is no problem for me.

I'm not sure why they had to use the name lucky Stuff for there UK warehouse but i have seen that on my order form which was stuck on the box which the SE5a came in,mind you i really don't care what they call them selves as long as i keep getting by bargains off of them.wink 2

So the choice is yours if you want to use them or not,we can only tell you how we see it.

  8. Mark,

I understand what your saying and some of it maybe true for some foam models,as they can/do fall prey to hanger rash more so than others, the EPO foam is a lot better at handling this than lets say the EPS foams, what i use on most of my foamies now is that great stuff from rcworld.co.uk which is Poly-c and very fine glass fiber cloth, which works a treat and can be sprayed painted, sanded down you name it that stuff can just about handle it all.

It does a good job at saving your foam models from minor dings and hanger rash but won't save your model from an unplanned landing.

It's also lighter than glassing with epoxy.

  9. I've got a good few EDF's Mark but there foamies mate and they are made by different manufactures and of good quality,my Pahse3 EF-16 and the Durafly Vampire happen to be my favorites this season, that can change from season to season though,I've only been flying for just over 5 years but if you take into account our poor weather, thats not really 5 years lol.

Once i feel ready for a composite i'll take the plunge because i still get the (how shall i put this) sweaty palms when i do a mainden of my foam EDF's a bit more than i usually do with my warbird, not sure why but it could have something to do with the speed of them i'm guessing.wink 2

Great day for flying today in my neck of the woods (Norfolk) even if the sun is a bit hot for my liking but i'm hoping to get out there after dinner tonight, around 7 ish should be just fine for a good few sorties i'm thinking.teeth 2

Thanks for the heads on the Durafly Spitfire MK24 Scott, the money for that bad boy is well and truly put aside and will not be spent no matter how tempted i get with another model.

I know the MK24 Spitty has nothing to do with this thread apart from it's made by Durafly which is a Hobbyking brand so i'm going to try nd post a video of it,just in case some may not have seen it before and if you have why not look again, every time i watch it theres another part of that plane i fall in love with. ok maybe i shouldn't go that far but she is one sweet looking model which i've just got to have go in my hanger.

No matter what we say i'm sure mark will find a fault with HK,smile o we prove him wrong then he will just come back with another reason not to buy/like them.

Not sure why but at the end of the day we all have our own reasons to why we chose to buy from whom ever,so i'll just keep buying the Durafly planes and what ever off HK at a price i know can't be beaten for quality and performance.

I use to buy all the PZ warbirds at one point but there prices where to high for my liking,ok i'll still buy the odd one if it takes my fancy, but just lately i've started to buy the Durafly range which for me are a better price for what i get,no more buying servos for flaps or another £50 for retracts and so on,as the Durafly warbirds normally come with all that as stock.

Scott i missed the part when you said the new Durafly MK24 Spitfire would be on the main website.teeth 2

It is not grumpiness, by me or anyone else. It is just logical. If they want to sell me something they must try to please me.

I don't actually give a monkeys about Hobby King, but that is not the point.

But that is how HK work. NigelH comments on the Hawk proves it. Looks good, reasonable price. You are very tempted. Want it. See the price of the UC. But you buy it anyway. And peoplr fall for it and believe they have got a bargain when they have not.

Saw the HK vampire a cople of days ago. Flies beatufully. Takes off well too. A McDonald's burger carton has a better finish and is made of a higher quality foam.

You say you don't give a monkeys about HK but the couple of posts i've read of yours say differently,oh well each to there own i guess and if you can get the odd battery local or online for 50p cheaper you go for it mate and my hats of to you for the saving.

I'm not sure what you were looking at as i've got the Durafly D.H-100 Vampire and she is a great looking model and for that price i was well happy,i didn't have no problems with the finish on my one at all but if you would rather get some McDonald's foam and make one you go ahead and let us know how well it flies or at least how well it looks.wink 2

I was that pleased with it that i went and brought the Durafly SE5a from Hobbyking UK and that is another great looking/flying model and the sacale detail is worth the money on it's own if you ask me,still i'm glad she flies so well though.

    Happy flying all.teeth 2

Actually the 'converter' does the conversion on the web page. If you select GBP, that's how the prices will appear for everything.

Sheesh is it THAT hard to click the button when you log on?

    +1 Daithi

Thats what i said in my posts but it's just to easy for some to moan. wink 2

  14. Come on mate how hard it is to use the converter? i get your point but at there prices i can live with it and i'm sure loads of others can too,i'm only to pleased they have a UK warehouse and no matter what HK do you will always get someone (not you) moan about this or that.

Life is just to short for me to want to worry about the little things in life like this.

Seems to me your more upset about your old bills than the HK converter.wink 2

Oh come on guys, don't let the the rest of the world know we are incapable of working

    in more than one currency.

I don't mind it being in dollars as it gives an easy price reference across the three warehouses

    +1 Garbo

To answer the question at the start of the thread, easy just go over to HK and look down the right hand side of the page and click on UK Warehouse.teeth 2

    Joke over with.

If you need it they have a currency converter a little bit down on the left hand side of the home page.

Once you have got to the UK warehouse and you have your orders in your cart you get the choice of postal service, when i last ordered off the UK warehouse it gave two options for postal service which was 24 hours and 48 hours, now i don't know about you but i've never had an order come from China or Hong Kong in 23/48 hours.

My last order was at my door with in the time frame i chose once it left the UK warehouse,if you pop over to the HK forums as i do quite often you can find a thread all about the UK warehouse and theres a google map which shows where it is and even the address and the company name which isn't HK but luck toys or something like that,it isn't that far away from me as i'm in Norfolk and there UK branch is Suffolk and once they have bee up and running for a while i'll start to pop down there once in a while to pick my orders up,especially if they get the flying field sorted out for there customers to use.teeth 2

I don't believe i violence eitherStartaz & I too have only ever had the one problem with H K :but as the items were a Tx,Rx &esc I feel obliged to be concerned. Dealing with so many different individuals was perhaps the problem. As a large busines surely the left hand would keep an eye on what the right hand was doing? From what has transpired over the last few days I feel sure that Scott may be able to achieve a positive result.

Hi Ross,i'm not sure i understand the part about violence, when i said i'm not here to bash anyone i meant bad mouth, that means i'm not going to talk bad about anyone, wink 2 That wasn't aimed at you at all mate but if you thought it was then i apologise for my bad choice of words or how it was put,it was just me saying i'm not going too.

I too would be concerned it i had a TX,RX and or an ESC problem with any company and i would want it sorted,i've brought more than 8 orange rx's for my DX8 from HK and not a problem with one of them, but you know if i had and the fault wasn't my own i'd be one of the first to go and get it sorted trust me.

I hope you get it all sorted out to your satisfaction soon mate.

Now if i could only get Scott to say when he thought the new Durafly MK24 Spitfire was to go on there website i'd be an even happier chappie.teeth 2

    Happy flying people.
