  1. I can't seem to judge where the plane is in relation to trees etc and crash a lot. It seems to me that the plane position is hard to judge in relation to its surroundings compared to the real thing.I've tried realflight which was hopeless and now have pheonix which I use with the Spektrum 6i, still I'll stick with it as I have a plane in the shed ready to go.Jeff

Hi, I've just bought Pheonix at the nationals and use it with my Spektrum dx6i. (I am a total novice not having flown the real thing yet) It took a bit of sorting out at first but finally got in the air but soon lost the plane. Is it me? my computer? or is this normal?  Help !!!!!!Jeff
  3. ' I'd like to know how the wife always knows what I'm up to ' ????????
  4. My son and I went to the Nats for the first time and I have to say that it was the best day out for many a year. We attended on the sunday and caught the last of the swap meet, we had such a good time being able to travel the site looking at the flying. I am just coming into the sport  so spent ages touring the trade stands getting ideas and buying some of the things needed to start flying. It was a joy to see that the show only contained stands to do with the sport and not  food stalls. I enjoyed going to the LMA at Cosford but the Nats beat this by a long way...... roll on 09' Thanks to all involved. Jeff
  5. just starting out myself so it would find a happy home with me
  6. Thanks all of you, when you get to my age you don't worry too much about asking questions. In younger days  I always hoped that someone would ask the question I dare not ask myself only to lose out. Cheers, Jeff
  7. Just decided to join and benefit from your knowledge. I come to this hobby after watching my son in law and friends fly at their club in South Africa. I mentioned my interest to a chap at work who knew someone with a plane for sale if I was interested. I collected the plane (a Thunder Tiger MK ll complete with engine and rx) and took it to my local club here in Corby. What a great bunch of blokes, in no time they had the plane fueled, battery charged and engine running then after further checks it was in the air doing a few circuits. It was brilliant and I was told that the asking price was well worth it too. I've since bought a radio (Spektrum DX6i at the nationals) and just need the accessories and apply for membership of the club. Last weekend whilst chatting to one of the members,he offered to teach me so off we go. Jeff
