  1. flu my new allycat pylon racer for the first time it was fast..... on the third flight the 2.4 rx stopped talking to my tranny and it did a half roll on full throttle. the engine was about six inches under ground. only £160 for the kit and a new Irvine 61abc. never mind still got my saito 91 powered acrowot.
  2. oh yes i forgot to add, I took my align 600n helicopter to work and as the paint was drying in the school classroom i was painting i test flu my 600n on the school footy pitch.
  3. sat 29th Sunday 30th It might be cold and wet but i still got through a gal of fuel in a saito 91 in an acrowot. about twenty flights on sat and five on Sunday. oh and i had to work on both days as well. If you really want to fly then you will find the time. sat 9.30am till 2pm Sunday straight after work 2.45pm till 3.45pm was going dark so i went home with a great big smile on my face. on sat morning i flu my acrowot and test flu three new planes for my students trimmed out two more and still had time to get twenty of my own( some were not that long but they all count.) come on guys get out there and get them in the air.
  4. hi all just to let you know i joined the forum a short while ago. and have made a few comments in the forum. I have being a model fly-er since 1981 and enjoy most avenues of the hobby. the main part of that is being an instructor for my local club. in Ipswich Suffolk. anyway just saying hello to all that want to know, and i hope to have many chats both informative and sociably.
  5. thats just my point, you dont have to use rudder, but because you have used that stick so much on the heli you find it natural to use it. most pilots i have trained dont use rudder till much later. you have put rudder mixes in and use it allready. good for you and i hope you continue to enjoy planes.
  6. I have had three of my students pass in the last three weeks. at our club you can not fly alone with out the "A". so as most of my guys are retired they can now go flying in the week when I am not there.
  7. Hi I know its a long thread, but I try to get all my students on a boomerang they are well made they last they fly well and do some mild aerobatics like inverted for a while, most trainers wont, but at the same time they land well the stoll is very mild,I have not read all the thread so if you have not spent any money yet buy a boomer.
  8. hi i am a newby to the site but not to the hobby. i teach both helicopter and ic planes. one of the guys that i have right now has being flying helicopters with me for over two years and has just started doing ic planes. the first thing is that he found it a lot more easy than those that did not fly helicopters first. after six weeks  he is landing and flying low eights split "S" loops and rolls. with an acrowat with an irvine 61abc. I started him of with a seagul boomarang for about two weeks not even his, then the seagul low wing trainer, he bought that one for himself. and now has got the acrowat. he has got his "A" cert in helicopter and will be doing one in ic planes in two weeks time when it stops raining.
  9. well not mine but one like mine next to full size. the kit is a cermark kit and with a irvine 61abc is very fast, and the sound of the engine in that glass cloth fuze is really good It growls
  10. yes i agree with most of what has been said about how good the saito's are. i have an acrowat and the saito fa91 has never stopped on me once. have an on-board glow on it now just so it looks good starting it with a wireless starter, from my helicopter days, I am an instructor and i use the acro to teach "A" cert students to do mild aerobatics. it sounds great looks good and on 15% nitro again from my Helli, has loads of power. the acro was built by tery walton from criss foss and is glass clothed inside so it heavier than most but it still vertical for as long as i want with the saito.I am about to put on a super quite silencer from just engines to make it even quieter
