  1. It sounds like Kelvins H9 P40 was a Friday afternoon job!!  I have been flying mine now for over 18 months now and it is absolutely superb; I even won a flying only scale competition with it.    The u/c is a little wobbly but it has flown on all surfaces, even of the  Old Warden strip, which is not the best for such an u/c.  The structure is still sound after many hours flying.  In fact it is getting to look a little tatty now so I am planning a recover this winter and adding split flaps as it is a slippery model with a high approach speed.  Powered by an ASP 91 which never misses a beat.   After the success of the P40 I decided to get the 80" P51D.  Wow what an aircraft!  Powered by an MVVS 26 petrol, it is superb.  Again no build quality issues.  I did change the wires and links though as they looked a little to cheap and cheerful.  I have a number of friends who have ARTF and the best quality we have found so far is Hangar 9.  No I don't work for them or have shares in them!!
  2. Only on the inside Rob! When you have invested money in a large model like the Hangar 9 80" Mustang I want to be sure everything is OK. I have seen some beautiful models terminated over the years because of apparent signal loss. I have also used the Spektrum Flight Log to check signal fade at 2 different locations, an active military airfield and at a local 'club' field and encountered no problems.
  3. C'mon Dave you saw the evidence at Honington this year.  I was flying confidently with no glitches, where the other guys were having problems and even losing aircraft for inexplicable reasons.  What price safety!!
  4. I am flying a Hangar 9 80" Mustang with a Spekky AR9100 power regulator Rx with 4 remote Rxs.  I plugged in the Spekky flight log at the end of each flight and have had no fades at all.  I would have never invested in such an expensive model on 35 Mhz.  In my 27 years flying radio I have seen too many glitches and unexplained crashes, including my own.  2.4 has certainly given me the full security to invest more in my modelling.  Sure some people will criticise that it is quirky in its set up.  However, follow the basic rules, Rx positioning, battery power etc and you cannot go wrong(!!?).
  5. I have been using Spektrum since April 2007.  Best decision I made.  Easy to use , simple to set up, gives greater confidence when flying.  35 MHz..................what's that ?
