No, its not. In fact its just rude and selfish. The mods know its broken, they are working on fixing it. What more needs to be said? I am sure their attention span is sufficient to remember they need to fix it and perpetual whinging will not enhance their mood or increase their speed.

Its a popup, a tiny insignificant window that chills out in the corner of the screen. Just ignore it. I cant even begin to understand why this is such a big problem. The thought of anyone being so fragile that a malfunctioning popup on a toy aeroplane forum is causing such distress that they might leave is utterly ludicrous to me. Honestly what's next? Tears at Tesco as your favourite brand of biscuit has been out of stock for a few days due to floods? The staff perplexed as you sniffle out of the door saying you are going to Sainsburys from now on.

    Its just pathetic.

Im complaining about complaining, so do i get double points?

    stop complaining  naughty Jon.......

    Repeats?

You mean you didn't watch the Great Escape (yet again) along with Lawrence of Arabia, Zulu and Die Hard? That was actually on twice on different channels.

You don't know what you are missing but then again perhaps you do. 😉

Happy new year everyone, friends dad ended up in the great escape camp cooking on one of the stoves....he arrived too late for his name to go in the hat to escape.

When the film was made in 1963,the camp survivors were invited to the first showing in London....when they came out, they all agreed....it was a load of 'rubbish'

  4. Well reading this Thread....opinions are full of if's and buts.....and I'm all for the different views.....but as I've mentioned Andy(BMFA) has said .... they would have banned model flying if they want the sole use of the sky......I will put my faith in the BMFA,LMA and the rest.......just hope that the new regs aren't too prohibitive......and we don't get Kapowed financially.....to fly our models.

  5. Merry Christmas Brian.....apart from all the consultation stuff and rules and regs we now operate under... I'm optimistic about what is going to happen in reality....I take the Andy Symons view that if we were to be removed from the sky...they would do it without consulting us etc...

Until the evaluations have been made, and I may suggest, someone may have put a comment in the consultation document that gets picked up as being a good/alternative idea, nothing is decided.

Gary is entitled to his view, which I suspect is nothing more than being content to follow the rules.

The continuing thread of 'why? who does it benefit?  its only being done to clear the airspace for commercial use' is well trodden.

The question that needs asking not only of the CAA but the Politicians loudly and repeatedly using the above continuing thread is, Justify why microlights, hang gliders, paragliders are not being compelled to do the same. Our models do not carry people, they do.

And painful as it maybe for some it has not been decided, with the drive by the BMFA and those who have responded to the consultation document a measured approach may prevail.

If you really wish to extrapolate the existing and pending rules and regulations consider this, all future unmanned autonomous and rc controlled aerial vehicles will be chipped for N/RID at source. Your phone gives up your location, forget turning it off in some app or other, it remains detectable and can be turned on remotely.

And don't worry about voice activated gizmos, i.e. Alexa

Well said Z,I actually enjoyed reading Your words..
