  1. Thanks for the replies guys, thanks Martin, I live in the dreaded land of Essex
  2. Hello guys, I bought this 6EX a few weeks ago, a guy had it brand new unopened! It worked perfectly for a few weeks, but on Saturday it turned on fine but it would not connect with any of my recievers. It's not the crystals as I have tried multiple and it's not the receivers as all 5 worked perfectly a few weeks ago. Its not the PPM or PCM. It's not the TX or RX batteries either as I have tried a few. any ideas at all? I had no luck googling it. It's really frustrating as I just built a Tricopter, and my Weston Cougar is desperate to fly! Thanks in adadvance Jake Edited By Jake gazzard on 30/09/2013 07:10:04
  3. Hello Ken, where could i get a small bungee?
  4. Hi guys, not been on here for months! I got a 50mm EDF L-39 last week and when i try to throw it, it just doesnt get enough speed to fly. I launch with full power and throw it as fast as i can and even have had others try. The EDF is fine, its got loads of power. The thing i noticed is the exaust nozzel is smaller than the EDF fan and i read the smaller it is, the better for higher speed, the bigger the better for slower speed. Does anybody have a better way or any ideas to get this thing flying?
  5. Hello everyone! I have always loved good ole' vintage aircraft and many many years ago my great uncle was a huge aeromodeller, he designed and built his own engine called a Condor and he also built many planes out of plans. Sadly he passed away 20 odd years ago. Anyway, i acquired a plane that he built a few years back and did nothing with it. I decided i would convert it to RC as it was free flight, i converted the elevator, the rudder was moveable anyway. I have mounted the servos on the rear, to save inserting control rods down the narrow fuselage. It is powered by his old R/C irvine 61, a MK1. It has never been flown and i have a few things to do and hopefully Sunday it may get airborne! has anyone else had any experience with rudder bugs?@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);

  7. I did think a 10 would be a tiny bit too small! I thought it may have been a 100 and written down wrong. Im looking at a .90 2 or 4 stroke, or a 120 4 stroke.
  8. Hello, is your engine a .10 or bigger than a .90? sorry im useless at this sort of thing! It isnt the squall fuselage, its the fan, motor and esc. Its only been used 3 times.@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  9. Hey everyone, not been on here for a LONG while! My friend Sheldon Holy gave me a patternship today but sadly i dont have enough money to get an engine so i was wondering if anyone has a tatty old .90 that runs that someone is willing to donate to a superb project! I have a squall ducted fan with 40 A esc and motor in return for someone. Im very sorry for asking but im desperate to get an engine for it! Thank you very much for reading! Il upload a pic later! @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  10. Hello Guy's, i have found a nice little engine i would like to make and make it work. I am looking at the U-22 as its very simple and it kinda looks like Frank Wittle's early engines with the combustion cans. I have a good idea on how to make it but i need some plans to verify this. I know you can buy plans but is there anywhere on were i can download them free? Thank you.
  11. Posted by Doug Ireland on 04/08/2010 16:01:33: I would think the hardest part would be keeping the compressor/turbine in one piece. Bearing (no pun intended) in mind that the turbines we already have for RC use spin at over 100,000 RPM. If yours is going to be smaller in diameter then I imagine it would need to spin a lot faster than that to get any useful thrust out of it.   How about getting hold of a small turbo from a car and see what size the spinning bits are?  i completely agree, i now think i have a soloution to the compressor and turbine wheels, ill draw it up and post it here
  12. Hello everybody, i am wanting to build a micro working 100mm long and 60mm wide. Now, my grandad owns a big engineering firm with industrial lathes, cnc's ect so making the casing, main shaft, things that need welding, cones, combustion chamber ect are fine to make there BUT the compressor wheel and turbine wheel cannot be made there as i dont have a clue on how to make them! Has anybody got any idea on how to make these 2 components? They are the MAJOR parts of the turbine, well they are the turbine but the hardest things to make. Any help and comments would be very appreciated! Thank you.
