  1. Don't forget Muliplex have a total of 8 Modes on the Cockpit Tx. I have one of my planes, an E-glider on Mode 5 as it gives me the Motor control on the right slider. It's out of the way so I don't alter it accidentally. Rick
  2. Following my less than auspicious first flight (not to mention the subsequent major rebuild) I am considering all factors which may have been the cause of the disaster. I purchased the Radian without the Rx and fitted my own radio equipment. However there seems to be very little advice in the instructions as to the correct amount of control surface movement to set. Can anyone advise please? Rick.
  3. Well the fuselage is just about repaired now so I need a new ESC and motor. Horizon won't supply to the public direct so which outlets are most likely to have these items in stock, anyone know please? Rick.
  4. Thanks Tom, I'd be surprised if it was over the continuous current rating as I was only giving it short runs but as I am new to Eflight and have a lot to learn, maybe that was the case. One thing that has caused me some concern is that there is no provision for fuses in the circuit with this design, is that the norm with PNP aeroplanes? Nor is there a master swich. Rick.
  5. I piled in my Radian Eglider a week ago in what looked a near vertical dive. The fuselage front was reduced to four chunks of foam and I have spent the last few days repairing it with epoxy resin, fortunately I had collected all the bits. The Rx and servos have survived and function correctly, the prop and spinner assembly too surprisingly, are undamaged and initially I thought the power train would be KO until I connected it up and tested it...... I ran up the motor five or six times and all seemed well but the next time the motor started to oscillate (rather like an over compressed diesel engine) then smoke and flames billowed from the ESC at the motor end of the unit. I think the ESC may have fetched up against the rear of the motor during the impact and damaged the leads that supply the motor. I have made a through visual inspection of the motor and all looks to be in order. The spindle is not bent, the rotating part of the out-runner rotates truly and all seems OK here. However I have been told (over the phone) that there may be internal motor damage which caused the failure of the ESC. So my dilemma is this do I purchase just a replacement ESC and risk that burning out or do I go for a new motor as well. Rick
  6. Thanks for all cautious and not so replies! Had I seen T.M's reply sooner I might have been tempted to give this LiPo a second chance, however it has been in a bucket of brine for a few days now awaiting disposal. In the future I must cosider a battery mounting that has frontal cushioning to stop this sort of damage. Of course it would help if I was a better pilot! Rick.
  7. My Radian crashed this morning, vertically with the motor running at full speed. and is now reduced to lumps of foam! The battery fetched up against the back of the motor and is badly distorted. I have check and it is not leaking but it would seem prudent to scap it for safety. It was fully charged before the (short) flight and I would therefore like to fully discharge it initially. Since I have no other planes in which to run it down how do you suggest I go about it? Any other helpful advice would be welcome.
  8. I purchased a kit for the Weasel S/S recently. The EPP foam produces a tough little airframe but I am having continual problems with the Bellyskid which forms an under tray. This is continually suffering damage in heavy landings and cracking. I think it would be far better made from fibreglass rather than the acetate-like material from which it is fashoned. Has anyone else had this experience and made a replacement from fibreglass or other tougher material? Rick.
  9. I've managed to do it - got the system setup in mode 5 and the throttle is now on the RH slider as I was intending! Thanks to PatMc, and Grasshopper for their prompting. Rick.
  10. Firstly sorry Tim, over messing up the page layout. I generally like to write in 'Word' since it has textual correction and I'm not very good at typing. As to mode, yes strictly I was using one aileron for the rudder servo.   Secondly Many thanks PatMc for looking into my problem. I was not aware that I might have inadvertently engaged a mixer. I must have another go at setting up the Radian.   The Multiplex Cockpit equipment has been well received by the model press and is obviously first class equipment. But to tell the truth I am finding the task of setting it up for my aircraft very difficult. I just can't seem to get my mind 'in tune' with the system, is there anyone else like me? Rick.
  11. Great!!!! It dos your heart good to see such Dynamics. Fantastic. Rick
  12. Re: Multiplex Cockpit/ Radian setup problem. I purchased a Radian glider togther with Multiplex Cockpit equipment a little while ago. I have now setup the above combination in Mode 1 (elevator on LHS stick – motor/rudder on RHS stick) and all is working correctly. However:-I noticed the instruction book states modes 5 to 8 will place the motor under the control of RH slider which would seem to be more convenient (less chance of turning the motor on by accident). I decided to try this by setting up another “model” in mode 5. However I have met a problem. If I plug the ESC into no. 4 socket (throttle control) on the Rx then the motor control is still with the RH stick. If I plug it into no. 6 socket (spoiler/th-limit) then I need to use the slider to release the “throttle check” but the motor control is STILL on the RH stick. Where am I going wrong? Rick.
  13. I am about to fit an EC3 plug to a LiPo battery but would like some advice on how to proceed.
  14. Yes Geri Atric I seem to remember a mention of such sofware for tile printing plans. I am sure it was free. But was it on this web site or was it in a mag? Anyone saved more information?
