  1. Bill,   the grain in the webbing should down through the wing in a vertical manner to link the top and bottom spar, thus creating a solid structure. just ensure the webbing is also snug fit between ribs for maximum strength.   Second opinion would be worthwhile buts thats what i do   Thanks Rob
  2. Sounds good there Sandy, i have only been flying for about 12 months you sound a little ahead in the build than me but post us on how she flys.
  3. Ahh now i see an error in my build. Maybe i should have checked out F7 on the plan for what i should have been doing here!!!! Or used Glenn's photo. Oh well im sure i will get it to work as i have done it.    I think i was distracted by my bees swarming
  4. Well i ended with lamination of 3mm and 1.5 mm and it seems to have worked - also note wifes nail file (they work a treat!)   We will see i guess Edited By Rob Mirrlees on 17/05/2009 08:52:48
  5. Well I think i am going to glue them in too (maybe even cyno as 1 stringer at a time with PVA will take me weeks), I dont see the advantage of leaving them loose.  Thats a whole lot of jigging there Glenn or my few ply/balsa jigs are insufficient.   How did you cut that tail fairing?- also only 4.5mm balsa i had has been used for my jigging (Doh!!!) could i use a lamination of 3mm and 1.5mm   P.S. looking good there, has it been finished and flown yet?
  6. Right I am ready to start adding the stringers. Are they only stuck with glue on the formers and rear attachment i.e. they are not glued at the front? if so why is this?
