  1. Andrew,  that was what I was trying to say but instructions ought to reflect how it is (yep, should no better).  First pop at this so a little nervy.   Annoyed as well about it as I was feeling the side waiting to feel the rod so I could cut a small hole and it popped out on the other side. Can be stuck down easily enough I guess and will not be the last bit of damage   cheers for responses
  2. Having progressed steadily with this first build, I have encountered an issue and am curious if others have. The pushrods for elevators and rudder go through plastic tubes. These come away from servo bay at different heights to attach to the rear controls but they are reversed from the info on the manual, i.e. elevator control should come out of left side of fuselage but comes out on the right.  Do I simply reverse the implementation of the instructions?   Apologies if a daft question but the manual specifically states doing things on the right side of the rudder and it may matter or it may not but I do not know
  3. Both ways sound OK and advice from club member is to go for the tail-dragger as it gets a bit soft at the strip. Some points to ponder and always can convert.   Ken, I would also be interested in the sterrable tail wheel if you can let me know hot to get the info.....
  4. Those debates make the world go around.   Unix vs Windows for Sys Admins at work. Fender vs Les Paul for my other pastime with the guitar.   Lurk around those ones and consider them a spectator sport
  5. Hi Hamish, membership of club in process and awaiting paperwork. The club dictates you have to have the A cert before going solo so already have some contacts for the instruction side there. Have seen a couple of undercarriages come off and as you say, if you land correctly you eliminate that major issue!   I am just curious as to whether there is a perception the tricycle setup is easier to learn with.
  6. Wow, quick responses - usually indicates a nice place. Daresay the Dark Side reference will become clear at some point as well!   Will check out the gliders section and that all sounds like good fun.   cheers
  7. Just joined the forum and just got my first model 30 years after first wanting one. Bug reignited seeing some guys from a local club performing a small display at local school for the launch of a Build-A-Plane project.   Have acquired a WOT Trainer with a OS46AX engine and will spend some time this week assembling - any thoughts/comments/opinions about the plane/combo appreciated.   Have opted for Spektrum DX6i 2.4 GHz as some of the members at the local club have the Spektrum so hopefully easier to buddy up.   Really looking forward to the challenges and fun to come to get in the air to start with and then go solo. and then, well who knows, that is another story
  8. Hi all, 1st posting here and will intro myself with next post. Have got myself a WOT Trainer today and the u/c setup is optional for tricycle or tail-dragger.   Is it simpler to opt for the tricycle setup? I have never flown before so no experience whatsoever so interested in otehrs experiences to the setup and general comments re the WOT as well.   First of many questions I daresay
