  1. Many thanks Timbo and Kelvin-very, very helpful links!   Rob
  2. Does the retract servo use that more juice than the rest of servos;  I also guess that the retract servo ought to be less busy than the others.   How do you wire in another nicad so that it only serves one servo?   I am very interested in this as I am building my first model with retracts-the Kyosho Spitfire 90 with RCV 90CD.   Cheers   Rob
  3. Hi,   I've just spotted 2 switches-what is the second one for.Model's looking great; good luck with maiden.   Cheers   Rob
  4. I've just noticed that it is a YS 60 (not a 61) so I guess it's an earlier model.   Thanks for all replies   Rob
  5. Has anyone used the RCV 130CD in the kyosho 90 spit, or is that a bit OTT?   Rob
  6. Thanks Eric,   You're a star! (who is Tim?)   Rob
  7. Thanks all for your help & advice.   Eric, could you please clarify your guidance and/ or formula. Is division and addition implied in your response. ( "/"  "and one third of the difference)   Hope I've made myself clear   Cheers   Rob
  8. Contact the makers-I am sur they will help   Rob
  9. It is a 2 stroke engine and I believe the pump system was made by Yamada? and was available to be fitted to a range of popular engines in the 1980s. I don't know much about the YS / Yamada cinnection - maybe they are  / were one and the same company.   I have the instructions and it talks about a special one way valve being at the end of one of the fuel tubes - I have never had this and a club member once told me to cut a short slit in the fuel pipe parallel with the pipe's length and that would do.   Maybe this is the problem. I have heard that there is an "engine doctor" somewhere in the UK. Does anyone know anything of him/her??   Rob
  10. Hi,   I've just found my (hardly used) YS 61 with fuel pump built in. (the idea was that you would be able to fit the tank anywhere and it would work well)   Trouble is I can't seem to get the engine to run for very long with the tank right behind it. As the engine has got loads of life left in it I would like to use it in some aircraft.   Is there anyone who specialises in sorting out engine probs?   Cheers   Rob
  11.   Having heard the delightful sound of the RCV 91 CD, would it be man enough for my Kyosho Spitfire 90. I believe that the 90 refers to a 2 stroke engine which, of course, the RCV is not and the 4 stroke recomendation is 110 - 120.   Rob
  12. Good to compare notes; Spit arrived today, aren't the instructions priceless?   Can't quite understand how the wings are 2 piece when the retracts are connected to the same servo-I guess one control rod needs to be dis/reconnected.   I think the firewall/bulkhead area needs beefing up a bit.   What servo will you use for retracts? - never had them before.   What engine is going in yours? I'm thinking about Saito 120 four stroke   Good luck   Regards   Rob
  13. Where can I get spares from for my Thunder Tiger Pro? 46   needle valve ratchet spring has snapped-seemed very weak!   Thanks   RobEdited By Robert Wilsher on 05/08/2009 14:21:54
  14. The model was VF or VN line (Vietnam)   Quality of materials was abismal and it required a fair bit of modification to finish it with reasonable strength.   The colour scheme is rather weird, (was there a desert Spit?) Because of the colour error I got this one free and have a green and brown one also. I think the company have gone bust-not surprised!   Rob   Edited By Robert Wilsher on 04/08/2009 20:11:47
  15. I have an ARTF spitfire with 53 Irvine 2 stroke engine   No idea where the C of G should be-instructions were useless-showed point half way across wing chord-won't fly in a month of Sundays at that position. Will the 1/3 of chord from leading edge rule work with an eliptical wing? My hunch is that it should be further forwards than that.   Would welcome any advice re this   Regards   Rob
