  1. Thanks to all who replied to my u/c position problem.Temp.positioned u/c in front of leading edge using"if it looks right" theory, and it was only about 1.5cms from position worked out as per calculations. flyboy3
  2. Hi Lee, as already stated, the carb centre line and tank position is very important during aerobatic movements. Also from what I remember the sillhouette is a fast and slippery model. flyboy3.
  3. Hi all,I am refurbishing a 45inch span biplane with a small backward sweep to its wings. Is there a rule of thumb regarding the position of  the centre line of the wheels (no plan) ,possibly in relation to the c of g or from the wing leading edge.I am trying to prevent ground loops or a nose over. A rule of thumb similar to (1/3 chord for c of g.) is what I need. thanking you, flyboy3
  4. Thanks Evan ill stick to the drawing as you suggest.  The reason for the question was that the 1st AHog I built flew great ,but it was hard work in rolls, loops etc.Thinking back it may have been due to lack of movement on the control surfaces, as no throws were shown on the plan or write up.Perhaps this time I will use rates with more movement etc. Thanks again flyboy 3..
  5. Hi Austen, you have done very well so far, what with teaching yourself to fly and actually flying on your own.  You should also consider the safety factor.Props bite and cause bad wounds and bleeding. If you are on your own you could end up in a potentially serious situation.  I suggest you join a club, or at least have a partner in case of any problems.  Flyboy3
  6. Thanks Garry,I,ll do as suggested and see how it looks before the glue is applied to the root ribs.flyboy3
  7. Hi all,I am building a wing from a plan, and it states " use root rib template".Does this apply to one or both wing root ribs?.  On checking the angle it is about 6 degrees. Thanks- flyboy3
  8. Hi all, first posting, hope its in the correct place. The Astro Hog 40 wing dihedral looks rather large to me(about 3inches) on the plan.  Would re -ducing it some what, lead to easier club type aerobatics. Thanking you -Fly Boy3
