  1. Hi I bought one of these cams after a colleague of mine did the same. Initially I was impressed with the footage quality and ease of operation. Unfortunately the camera has gradually began to misbehave i.e. it boots into a crash whenever turned on. This happened sporadically and now is nearly permanent with the odd exception of showing signs of life. My colleague's cam also shows the same behaviour. We have swapped micro SD cards and it came back to life (thinking it was the card) but it took only a few tries and the same happened again. The only way to turn the thing off is the rest switch. Most of the time, too, when it's plugged into the PC it is not recognised as a drive either. Another oddity I found is when it did work it only recorded for a fe secs and then turned itself off. In all cases the battery is fine. I opened it and gave the soldering a check, that looks OK too. Could be better, of course. Formatted card and emptied directory - no effect. With or without tag.txt no effect. This cam was once working perfectly well and recorded for over an hour. has anybody made similar experiences or perhaps know what's the cause of this behaviour? I don't quite want to give up yet... Can't wait to stick it on my model.... Regards
  2. Hi! Am new to Depron and if you believe stories there are apparently different qualities or even grades?! Any comments? I'd need a lot so the price difference would make me consider buying there instead of from r/c dealers who charge a lot (esp. postage). Judging only by looking at pix from e.g. Kudos Trading on ebay it looks like this stuff has larger pores like the packing material. Looks also like it is sold as flooring underlay. that stuff is normally sort of elastic to a certain degree and doesn't lend itself to sanding. Also found in the packaging industry in white green or pink or as thin sheets on rolls plus membrane back. Has anybody bought something from ebay? Is it suitable for building / sanding? M
  3. Can anybody enlighten me? Thanks! Mike
  4. OK, that leaves me with another question, how do I know an RX is PCM or PPM, it doesn't say anything on the box other than 7 channel high class receiver. FP-R107N, 35 MHz. How do I know from the Part No that it is dual conversion? Is there some kind of RX decoding chart where I can see what is what? Would it also be OK to use a four channel RX on a 7 channel TX?   Thanks Michael
  5. Hi I haven't played with R/C gear for about 20 years and things have moved on a bit, technologically. Have gotten hold of some used Futaba gear FP-7UPC PCM/PPM 7 channel set 35MHz How are the transmitters and receivers interchangeable? I have no idea what fits what, have a FP-R107N RX which seems to work. Can these RXs do PCM and PPM together? Do I need a dual conversion RX? How do I know the specs of a RX? Can I buy a modern RX for it or a mini RX? I am totally confused to say the least. In essence which RXs would fit? I suppose crystals for a dual conversion superhets are different, too, wrt. a single conversion RX. Could I use a four channgel mini RX with the transmitter as well?   Maybe somebody coudl enlighten me.   Thanks   Michael
