  1. Ian forget the epoxy on EPP use PU glue gorilla glue or similiar . Just remember to put plastic under it on the bench when gluing using PU otherwise your wing will become one with your bench
  2. MoM Is Man on Man Racing usually 3 or four 60 inch foamies doing 10 laps of a100mtrs lost of fun  and front side Hacking is just get out there and doing what ever you want or what ever the model can handle   things like pin drop dives continous rolls rolling circles you know  just fly it like you rented it stuff Edited By stephen wenban on 05/07/2011 02:49:04
  3. Just posted up the completed photo's of my PSS Hurricane, now your hooked on slope there a number of ways to go, Slermal flying ,front side hacking ,F3F racing ,MoM racing, Aerobatic's and DS just to name a few . My trouble is I like em all But PSS I love
  4. Just for information I own 2 of the Fly Fly DG1000 1 Fly Fly ASW28 and the Fly Fly Salto. the layup of the fuse is quite good ,however the fuse join is not taped its just cabosil,and needs a layer of glass carbon or kevlar in the nose and as far aft to the wing rootalong the belly pan as you can get, the whole range are only meant for slope,many have tried to electrify them and thermal ,forget it quick up quick down on the flat . They all fly fast and land fast .I've had them and flown them hard since 2008 ,out of all of them the ASW28 is my favourite it fly's on rails . They are great bang for the buck IMHO   @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  5. Just to let you know my first slope plane was an Oramge Box Rudder elevator in the early 70's prior to that I flew Scale power F4C, but after that first success I modded the orange box and stuck ailerons on it and had great success ,I then got my hands on a Veron Springbok at the end of the 70's still ruuder elevator but it flew beautifully then I discovered GRP (fibreglass) and the rest is history. Currently I have 40 airworthy slope machines in my hanger ,slope is all I fly ,is it addictive ??? I'll bet you a pint that after your first outing you'll be looking at other slope models to build and staring at every lump in the landscape and think that'd work Good luck and may the lift be with you SteveW
  6. No worries , Yes the Zagi will do fine no doubt
  7. Thats fair enough Tim , But every one I've seen and flown up the 5C had a bad tendency and they are know though out the slope fraternity to have that horrible tip stall and spirial which has been given the term the Zagi death spirial , but there are plenty of other choices that out perform the Zagi ,not all chevron wings are created equal
  8. Personally ,there are many epp wings that will perform better than a Zagi such as a Windrider Bee or a Scorpian from Off the edge sailplanes and they dont do the dreaded Zagi death spirial . However the Zagi's do fly ok just dont slow it down or pull to tight in the turn Edited By stephen wenban on 20/06/2011 23:59:59 Edited By stephen wenban on 21/06/2011 00:00:17
  9. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css); Arrr the sounds of the slope virus setting into the new blood, welcome to the addiction gentlemen and I may remind you resistance is futile every hill you pass will be viewed with new eyes, every flag pole will become a wind direction indicator for this hill or that, every week the weather forecast will become avid viewing, and as the experience is gained, the gale force wind tends to take on a whole new meaning for that new lead sled you have loaded in the car. Good luck guys and welcome to my world there is no way back now. 10. lol No no slermal in that flight ,the Bear is very deciving speed wise until it comes time to land
  11. I'll add my voice from down under, Ibeen flying for 47 years around 27 of those gliders of some sort or other of hills and towlines and bungee's and winches I also flew F4C Scale for many many years . I longer fly Power as Its just not needed as I'n a way I'm lucky that I have a number of soaring sites close at hand and even if there's no wind I can still go out and fly Slermal (slope thermal) . My passion for sclae has never died and still build that way however PSS is the scale I build. I'm the President of 2 clubs here the New South Wales Slope Soaring Association and the West Sydney slope Soarers . we fly 12 months of the year so there really is no season apart from summer is Coastal and winter is inland slope due to the prevailing wind direction . Slope soaring is an addiction with out doubt and one that I never wantto be cured of , becuase of slope flying and forums like these I've made good friend both local and internationally. Slope flying does not have to be a solitary thing but it is what you make it , and for me I make it fun . Here a vid of one of my PSS models on ity maiden flight at our Manilla slope fest Bearcat Maiden  Sloping you'll never know if you dont give it a goEdited By stephen wenban on 01/06/2011 22:02:37
  12. CAC Boomerang Phil already drawn up I always seem to get carried away ,I was going to only build a 60" version but for reasons best know to my Calculator It ended up at 80 inches (force of habit) this will be closely followed by a Heinkel 100D Edited By stephen wenban on 31/05/2011 00:58:55
