A little more progress.

 

Used cowl with sanding paper attached to help profile of cowl support.

 

Thank you Simon for the 3d files. First attempt with light weight PLA, needed to have a play with retraction rates and temperature to get satisfactory finish.

 

Managed to make a pigs ear of the ply cowl/hatch.

However did manage to recover the mess 😄

A little more sanding on the wing tips and then their ready to join.

A slight DIY interlude before any more updates 🙁

With regards the paint mixed at B&Q, I believe that you get a choice of finish. Just choose kitchen, bathroom or masonry finish, all of which should be resistant to damp or wet grass.

Just for clarification are the plans to scale or are they meant for guidance.

 

Measured wing not including wing tip on plan and measures 603mm and actual wing 612mm.

 

 

With moving the servo box outboard slightly it does require a little sanding to fit  No real problem, opted to bore out foam tunnel for servo lead with carbon tube

Made a start on the Warbirds Replica Fw190. Its been quite a while since I've done any building, so this is an ideal kit to reignite building, which I so much enjoy.

Just about to start on the wing, plan on using the MPX for the ailerons and Hitech for rudder and elevator.

Richard, presume that you have a list of peoples wants. Why not have a poll and then use the top two provided that they would be practical and fit your design criteria. Maybe first decide on single/twin or a multi?

 

At the end of the day your the guy that makes all this work so more than happy if we go down the spitfire/109 route.

If we’re looking for something that is not often modelled then either the Fairey Battle or the Fairey Firefly would fit the bill.

The other question is, what is the objective for the next model?  If the Fw and Tempest is “white label” does the next model need to be a little more complicated to help progress newbies skill level in building/flying. That way as the builds and designs get more complicated, we will eventually get Richard to design the B17 😂

Kit has arrived, thanks Richard. Its been confiscated by elfs until 25th or when kitchen is done. 😂

 

Mossie is top of the list, but Dewoitine D520 is a little different along with the Arsenal vg-33. The B17 would also be on the list but realise that maybe a pipe dream.

Richard, could you please add a set of red 13 decals to my Fw-190 kit. I have a 4Max PPP0-3548-1100 motor and is rated 1100kv, 800w. Batteries 3S 2600 0r 4S 2200. Would these be suitable? Kind Regards

 If you could measure your tank position then that would be grand but no rush?, can just about achieve centre of tank on carb centre line. Intend to laminate F2, certainly around wing dowels.

 

When using tissue I always give a thinned coat of of dope or sanding sealer. I only sand very very gently if there are any raised fibres.

What a nice looking focke ?.

 

My only concern is lack of strength in F2, some of which will be negated by carbon tows or carbon tissue or may laminate some thin 1mm carbon sheet. Work the weekends so some time to ponder.

Multi tanks would work, although seems to complicate what should be a rather quick & simple model.

Proposed tank is "Du-Bro 8oz"  height 49mm could go a Slec 6oz which as a height of 47mm. If tank is raised by 10mm this will put centre line of tank 5mm above centre of carb.  

Had thought about putting some carbon tissue (deluxe materials) or carbon tows on bottom section of new F2.

That is good news. Found the first edition very useful, just about got to grips with clubman then they changed it!

Looking forward to next edition and the inclusion of the intermediate schedule will be most welcome.
