  1. Thanks MattyB...... naturally the Panther is the one I don’t have!
  2. Thanks Piers....yes I have 3 of the 4 models in that series and the Hunter of the Flair Jet Set.
  3. Anyone had any experience of building/ flying any of the Cambrian Fighters of the Fifties series as a PSS? They are similar to the Flair Jet Set pair which were made for ic power or PSS. thanks
  4. Just received my Seagull Maxilift from KLM. In case people were being put off by some of the negative points highligted in the RCM&E, I can at least say that the cowl fitting issue has been resolved. The cowl slips over the fuz nicely now. The kit is very good quality. Not checked about the wing strut length though, which was the other main gripe in the review.
  5. OK thanks chaps....I will try these suggestions.
  6. On my Futaba TXs I am used to being able to set a high idle for normal flight, (moving the throttle stick to minimum reached this point).then a landing idle which closes the throttle a tad more via the switch...then finally engine cut. Has anyone managed this on a DX9?... Obviously the throttle cut part is easy....but the low/landing idle eludes me.
  7. Bought a DX9 from Kings Lynn Model Shop last week it arrived on the Friday. I got round to opening the box on Saturday morning. It ceased to function a few hours later. What happened? Well I used it! I was getting on fine with it during the first hour or so including installing the latest s/w version and the update for the UK voice. I added a "test" model to set different wings etc and all was fine. Before I went to copy over the models from my DX7, I thought I would delete the "test" model...and this is where it went wrong. As soon as I hit the delete confirmation the tx froze. It would not power off until I removed the battery. Then each time I switched it on the screen would light up but with no text on the screen and the Spektrum logo remained off. Kings Lynn have now had my TX for exactly one week with no contact from them. I have now called them twice to be told it is being dealt. with and I will be contacted shortly. How long do they need to replace it or refund me???
  8. Also broke mine recently. Yesterday I changed the fitting to an RP-SMA. You can now rotate the aerial 360 degrees, which helps avoid further breaks. If it does break you can simply unscrew the aerial and replace with a £3 new one. See piccies below. Edited By perry atkins on 07/09/2013 15:37:02 Edited By perry atkins on 07/09/2013 15:44:53
  9. Tried that first.. not sure if it was actually Chris I spoke to but was told that a copy of the  instructions were available at cost!   I'll have to guesstimate it.
  10. Anyone able to tell me the recommended c.o.g. and surface throws for an Xtrwot please?....
  11. Can anyone say that they have managed to get a 130cd or 120sp to pass an 82db noise test? If so how? Several have been tested at our club and they come nowhere near. I spoke to Weston who say that "any engine of this size will have a problem" This is simply not true in my experience.   For engines made in the UK, to be sold with inadequate silencers, when it must be known they will face such testing just seems silly.   Is it therefore expected that you must but an after market silencer to stand a chance?
  12. Flown mine now and it is really good. Didn't go mad with the engine (ASP 46). I intend it to be the foil with which to attempt my B cert. I am considering fitting a throttle pipe from Just Engines, one of their universal 32/53 versions. Has anyone done this in this artf model???  From what they have told me the stand off measurement from the exhaust flange to the centre line of the pipe is 50mm, but given the diameter of the pipe I reckon it will foul the bottom of the fuz. Any previous on this anyone?
  13. Just finished mine today. Overall a very nice ARTF of higher quality than normal. Bits I did not like though were the supplied aileron pushrods and clevises... you could screw the clevise on and then pull it straight off the thread without a great deal of force.   The two ply pieces to raise the elevator servo a tad were not included ( I think they were meant to be included as kit parts)   I still "re-glued" as much as I could out of habit from building  other ARTFs !   Changed the tank for a (same size) SLEC 11oz (orange) one which fits prefectly and is square as per the formers! Just had to open a small hole for the throttle linkage in one former.
