I get that accidents happen, but if I play devils advocate for a moment, I would ask why the gentleman in your example did not have his model correctly restrained precisely to avoid that occurence. That accident could have been prevented with better pit discipline.

I can just as easily remove one of my fingers in my workshop, or wielding a cleaver in my kitchen, but I don't insist on having someone with me. I accept the risks inherent in each situation and employ mitigation measures as I see fit.

I do understand your point, but I think that it is better as an advisory rather than a stipulation. Given the times I fly, I would never be able to fly if I had to have company.

    I agree Matt

    A wee question.

I have small boxy (B&Q EPS) Depron fuselage broken mid- length to repair  (grr- boohoo!)  Fairly clean break.

Should I use Epoxy for the joints, or would POR be strong enough?  I was thinking internal reinforcement EPS sheet bonded with POR, and epoxy for butting the edges?  Or could/should I just use POR for eveything- would it be strong enough for the butted edges?

"The Observers Book of Aircraft." Now that brings back memories.

No electronics required just good vision and a memory.

Still got mine. 1955 to 73.

Seems to me that all this hoo ha has been confusing, ambiguous load of codswallop.Nobody in the Aviation beaurocracy seem to know their arm from their bottom, when all we want to do is go to the flying field and fly our little non passenger carriers into the blue clear sky

Had my operators no. the GBR one and all is good ,so far ??

  5. Your power supply could be a 12 volt battery , an electric fire element straightened and a simple bow assembly , experimentation is the key as the length of wire and power input all dependent on wing span. Wing panels can be made in sections and joined.

  6. hi Andy,

The original junior 60 had the tail assembly banded on to enable packing to be added to trim the aircraft in a stable glide, ,the only movable surface was a small rudder controlled by an escapement mechanism. my advice would be to do some mods and add an elevator. another good move would be to go to a club local to yourself and talk to an experienced modeller. What area do you live in ,I am in the North west

  7. Gents, I received a couple of Pdf files today from the CAA titled Miscellaneous Air Navigation Order 2016 no. 1324 and 1326 dated 28 october 2019

General exemption E4953 my understanding of theses docs is that provided we are members of recognised organisations such as BMFA, LMA we have exemption from articles 94F and 94D

  8. Just been outside In my back garden , lo and behold I observed a multi rotor flying over housing within the Liverpool ATZ and then climb to out of sight within the normal route of the ultra lights from Formby airfield ,don't know where it was flying from , may have been a police machine but it certainly gives ammunition to someone in their efforts to regulate us only supposition on my part but I,d lay odds it was flown in accordance with current requirements
