  1. Hi Guys, I have one of these and in short i wish i did not, I am going to refere to it as "my kit" in case i have bought a rogue, as some one already has stated the nose is wrong and also if this is supposed to be a relica of SX 336 then the canopy is totaly wrong. On my kit the nose is twisted out of shape so sits with one side proud not much but shouldnt have a fault in it, the covering on the fus is very bad and the fin root fairing is a night mare, i managed to get all the wrinkles out of the wing and stab but where heat was applied some sort of writing now shows through the covering, the fin fits vie a tongue into a slot then sits back over the stab, no way its way out and will i imagine break if you apply too much presure, the retracts well the oleo legs are fine but the way they mount it all is unbelievable mount the legs their way and you will have the rear edge standing almost a inch proud of the wing, just fitted one side of mine just a test fit and in the up position the wheel is already hard against the wing rib in side the wheel bay and thats before you fit the plastic well, when you think of all the Spits out there they could have looked round for a more realistic fitting. Bottom line for me guys its bad value for money, want a Seafire? then go buy a good Spitfire and convert it. If any of you guys realy want one you can have mine for half price all i have done is join the wings fitted up the flaps and airlerons and fitted one side retract mounting blocks!!!
  2. Got mine Monday, thanks Swindon Model Centre, quality first class and packing but the decals were crumpled the bag they were in had some how shrunk? but think they are useable. Think electric is the way to go so as not to spoil the lines and yes i know a IC FS would sound good but why not fit a sound system they aint a bank breaker. The biggest let down for me was the undercart far far from being any where near scale, may be able to bring closer to scale with the new electric retracts as they come in 3 types and i believe the 80 degree set may be close.   Rob
  3. Sorry for the delay Martin but been away, i intend to use two magnets, while i am here with you scale lot anybody know where i could get a scale prop and spinner for a 1/4 Tiggie. Martin whats the U/C like on Flairs Tiggie, heard it is very good any way of getting hold of one do you know.   Rob
  4. I am building the Duncan Hutson Tiger and will hinge my side cowlings as well to get at carb settings in my case a SC180FS, wont knock electric but i'm addicted to the smell of ic's, not sure how Flairs set up is inside the cowl but have found i can on mine secure the side cows with magnets or you could go mad and make scale twist and pull slot and handles. Just a thought for you mate.   Rob
  5. Hi to you all on  here, as i have said i have returned afer a long break.  You guys are on about push button R/C. Well i started with a system called  "Galloping Ghost" come on guys be honest how many of you remember that?   Rob
  6. Hope so Ken, intend this to be a long term build and would like to think it could be classed as super scale. Gave Flairs Tiger some thought, two things put me off though a. its not true scale b. i bought their Hannable as my first  return project must say i was shocked at the quality of the kit and have stashed it to one side, not how i remember them when they were built just up the road from me, hence back to plans and cutting and slashing wood Wouldn't mind getting my hands on  Flairs  Tiger landing gear  though   Rob!
  7. Hi to you all, Just got back to this hobby after a 8 year break on my return to uk, boy have things changed, prices that frighten you to death sure you all know. Found your site while searching for stuff for my 1/4 scale Tiger Moth and got directed to a forum on here a guy looking for scal instruments for a "Tiggie" . Found most of what i want but still some i have not located yet so any body know where all the 1/4 scale bits and bobs are be gratefull.  Happy landings to you all.   Rob
