  1. I've made a start on the build now, it looks well thought out and good quality I'm hopping it will go together without many problems. I'll update with some photos later. Tony H
  2. Looks quite similar that one only with a different canopy.
  3. To be honest, I know a 52-62FS engine would suit this plane well but I wanted to buy a new Saito engine and wanted it to have a broader airframe application so I chose the 72 as it can be used in most 40-46 sized airframes.
  4. I have heard it can Tip stall unexpectedly at low speed which is a bit like a Cap232 I had. Is that due mainly to the wing shape or wing load? I guess when the time comes I'll have to test the stall speed at height and maybe make sure I keep the airspeed fairly high and do fairly hot landingsEdited By Tony H on 01/02/2017 17:30:25
  5. Thanks for all your comments. Peter which year did you review the kit? Is it available on digital copy in archives? it dates back to 2006. Also when you joined the cowl sis it still have the join bump or did you get around it? Tony
  6. Will do, it may not be the fastest build as and when I have time.
  7. Looks good, great plane this is. Builds well and flys even better. Well doneEdited By Tony H on 31/01/2017 20:59:21
  8. I'm not sure exactly where I would be able to beef it up except for maybe the under carriage and maybe reinforcement around the engine bulkhead. Everything else looks fairly chunky already.

  10. Hi All, I've recently purchased this kit from Cambrian Plane as I wanted something a bit different and Semi-Scale. My first impressions of the kit are very good so far. The kit looks well produced with all the required parts to build the airframe (includung hardware) bar the covering. It has a full size plan and a decent instruction manual. The main downside to the kit is the Cowling/Wheel Covers are ABS plastic which I would prefer fiberglass even if it cost a bit more, the undercarriage looks like it wont take much punishment (I'll change it for a painted white Dual Alluminium one), also the kit could do with updating with a servo in each wing rather than a single servo for the two alierons (I will change mine to two servos). I intend to use 5 Hitec high voltage standard servos and my Saito F72a. I have decided to keep it as scale as I can and cover it in Oraciver in the original 70s White and Red colour Scheme. 11. Hi Gav, Have you built and flown the kit yet? Tony
  12. Hi Guys I have finally finished my Bean, it needed a bit of extra weight on the tail and a bit on one wing. Hopefully it will fly well when I do the maiden flight in the next month or so. It should go like a rocket with my new Irvine 53 up front. Tony H

  14. Hi Beth, Please can you help, I am unable to open the archive magazines on the website. It loads but then just stays grey on the screen. Regards Tony
  15. Sorry for the shocking typos above.
  16. I've finally got around to building this, ive done it in silver aand red with an Irvine 53. I have to say not a great value kit ......if you can call it a kit or should I say wood pack! No I have the problem of attaching the canopy to the top. THe plastic cowl is also pretty awful and is't like what is shown in most photo's of the plane and the instrictions and parts listed within bare no resemblence to what is actually in the kit. I just hope it fliys well like Lee said. If you compare what you get in this kit compared to other british kits they should be ashamed of themselves. Pegasus Models are nearly half the price and are 95% complete kits. (enough parts to beuild the airframe) Also the same applies to Cambrian Models much more comprehensive. Tony H
  17. Hi, Rcme website told me my 3 month dd digital only membership was about to run out.....which I thouggt was odd because I thought the point of the dd was it carried on every 3 months. I ended up deciding to re subscribe for a second time but now I'm worried I'll be paying twice. Please can you check this out for me and let me know what is happening. Thanks Tony H
  18. Yes Bare wood at the moment.
  19. Hi Guys, Just a quick question. I am building a PB Bean at the moment and the wood for the fuzz is quite soft, I have sanding sealer and wondered if I sound use it to harden the wood so it can be sanded easier. I'm worried though if I do the Oracover covering won't stick to it after. What do you think? Tony H
  20. UPDATE I tried to get more power out of the AP15'S with 20% nitro fuel and a bigger prop and they ceased to run reliably. I decided to give up on the engines and switch them for 2 SC25's. They enabled me to take all the ec tea weight out the nose which is good. I haven't flown with them yet but hopefully this weekend I will, they should give almost twice the power of the AP's.
