  1. I have twelve, mostly in an airframe or with a kit ,yet to be built, in stock. Lazer 70 RCV60SP RCV58CD HP V49 3X HP21VT Irvine 46 Mk2 Irvine 25 Mk2 Irvine 20 Mk2 Irvine 40 Mk2 Marine SC40 and some nice AXI's for my electric models.
  2. Flanker, Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with your comments about 'spreading your money around' and not buying everything from China, I think you'll find that when you buy a RCV engine China is exactly where your money goes.Despite RCV being quite reticent about their manufacturing arrangements and not stating the country of origin on the box, I can tell you that the engines are made in China by SANGYE, otherwise known as the manufacturer of SC, ASP and Magnum engines. This information is in no way meant to detract from the appeal of the RCV product. I have a 60SP and a 58CD, but to re-iterate that the only current British manufacturer of four stroke model aero engines is LASER
  3. I thought we were talking about supporting British manufacturing in the here and now so, kiwi g, what relevance do Morris Marinas and Triumph Spitfires have to this thread?I thought so- none whatsoever!Ican only agree with erfolg in that I will never buy anything substandard just because it's made here, but times have moved on. Why buy a Saito or OS when you can have a Laser?
  4. I think Erfolg needs to move into the 21st Century. He's takling about Leyland, Metro's, Waltron, KeilKraft, Veron and Merco. All gone and finished. The consumer products of thirty years ago don't compare with those of today. Yes even German cars weren't perfect. My 1983 Mercedes 230E was an unreliable nightmare that rotted underneath, as were my BMW 2002's.Unfortunately for Rover, by the time the 75 came out, the management were thieving the company's assets, with inevitable results. Having said that my 43 year old Jaguar Mk2 is still going strong despite being built to 1960 quality standards. My modern Jaguar just clocks up the miles without complaint. The fact is, if we don't support our own workers and manufacturers, how are we to fund our public services and trade our way out of the huge deficit which is going to weigh heavily on all of us for the next few years.
  5. I had a Rover 75 for many years, my son still has it. It's the British built petrol version 130,000 miles and still going strong. It's replacement is a British built Jaguar-absolutely no problems.I always buy British products when possible e.g Laser engine, but I was dissapointed to find that RCV are made in China by Sanye.I have to own up to a liking for Sig, Great Planes and BalsaUSA kits though.
