Bonjour Chaps, I think the build is going well....I just hope she fly's!!!   I have a question or two if I may..........   I'm going to fit the battery behind my fuel tank as far as it will go, and pack around with sponge, then I was going to fit the receiver behind the battery and again pack around sponge... how do we secure the receiver down or is there a better place to put it????   my other question is once fitted, I plug the servos into the receiver, do I plug in the battery and the charging switch, so all slots will be used???? .......Too many plugs!!!!!! confused!!   Many thanks, Trusty....
  2. Hi Mike and welcome,   Like you i'm also new to the hobby, and I have just started to build an arising star. I've had lots of advice from this site, it's been great. Like you said the instructions are not great!!, so i had to trial fit everything, the only parts so far that caused issues were fitting the servo to the wing, the tray wasn't quite big enough, so I nipped to B&Q and got a hand file, that seemed to work..... Check out my build help thread and the advice re the fuel tank etc....   Good luck and let us know how you get on.....   Trusty..
  3. Hi Julez,   I'm new aswell, I've had lots of great advice from this forum........   Welcome from me,   Trusty..

Bonjour chaps!!   Thanks for the advice so far....... The build is going well, can I ask a quick question re the servo's...... when placing them in the servo tray I thought they just screwed in position after drilling some pilot holes, however the servo's come with some square rubber things!! do they get screwed down too??   thanks as always, trusty..

I will get an extention lead and securing clips thanks, while i'm thinking about it, if you look into the fuse, there is a small square hole on either side, is this for the charging switch harness thing!!?   Oh and before I forget....... Bonjour chaps! / Hi mogs,   Thanks for the post, I've started to build today, as i can walk!!! i've put the wings together....however along with building comes questions!!! and I have one if anyone could advise me....   The next part of the build is fitting the aileron servo, from the picture it slots under the wing in the square hole... and screws onto the mount... my servo doesn't quite fit due to having a cable comming from the end of it??? is there a way around this or am I missing a trick!!! and how does the cable fit into the receiver??   Hope it makes sense... Thanks as always, trusty...

Bonjour F.B 3, Big Phil and Alan, I'm out of hospital woo hoo! I can't walk but i'm out!..... I've decided to give the square battery a go, right behind the fuel tank as suggested by phil, thanks phil... While i've been away my servo's have arrived they are futaba 148's, and I've also got an sc 46.... I will let you know when I start, probably in a couple of days, and keep you updated... regards trusty....

Bonjour chaps, Thanks for all the info, it really helps...... I've read the instructions loads together with all advice and photo's, and tried to trial fit everything! I'm going into hospital tomoz to have my cruciate fixed, (thank god!) and when I get oot I will start the build, I did try to start the wings today but the wife wanted a room painting!!!.. Anyway as usual i have couple of questions...... Big Phil and r6dan suggest fitting the battery under the fuel tank, I have tried but it's very tight, it tips the fuel tank up and forward slightly, is this right??? I can fit the battery right behind the fuel tank, but I'm unsure if that will do the trick, my battery is like a cube, 4 double A battery types stuck together!! And.......... when you pull the pipes forward from the tank towards engine, i take it the fill pipe doesn't connect to anything?..... I hope all makes sense, thanks again.... Reagrds trusty..

Hi guys, As ever some great advice, many thanks.... I've noted on the photo's that people have foam inside their fus, is it another trip to B&Q!!!,? also as sugested placing the battery under the fuel tank, would that be inside some foam with the tank on top?? i've got a NIMH battery, it looks like 4 AA batteries stuck together! is this the correct battery?   Thanks guys   Trusty....

Hi Jim..... Thanks for the reply, did I type fuel tank!!! I should have said fuel line...........I was under presure with the kids!!!!! The ship in a bottle! I get it now..... In the instructions it say's cut a piece of fuel line and also insert into tank creating a longer ship in a bottle....   Then.... it shows the end of the tank with 3 seperate fuel type lines attached to the vent and fill etc...they go towards the engine, is this the one piece of fuel line I got with the engine cut into equal parts???...   I hope this makes sense!!!!   Many thanks trusty....
