  1. I've just pulled the Irvine 40 off my Tutor 40 mk2 and replaced it with an Irvine 53. I was thinking of running flexi pipe from the silencer outlet, under the fuselage and exiting right at the back end under the tail plane. The theory being that I wouldn't get all that oily cr*p all over the aeroplane. Does anyone have any idea if this would cause any ill affects? Cheers Steve
  2. Tavistock Model Flying Club is holding it's annual Open Day/Fly For Fun at Week Farm, Brentor, nr Tavistock, Devon on Sunday 5th June 2016 starting at 10.00 AM. Refreshments available, registered instructors on site if you want a trial flight. Come along and join the fun.
  3. Hi Andrew, Almost 2 years down the line, how did your Yamamoto build go? I seem to have become a bit of a Yamamoto nut in recent years, I have an original balsa kit, a New Yamamoto 1600 (fibreglass fuselage model), the wherewithal to churn out Yamamotos (including stickers), but,as yet, have not completed a single one due to other aircraft build projects and real life. Hope you are doing well, Regards Steve.
  4. Hi JVR Thanks for the reply and the photo of your bronco. I only got the plan t'other day so I haven't started work on it yet. I've worked out a few ideas for it like lightweight retracts, rudders, etc, but then I think it might be better not to mess around with the plan at all. What do you think? Regards Steve
  5. I've bought a copy of the Tony Nijhuis 54" Bronco. I've got all sorts of ideas of mods to it (retracts, rudders, extra strength, etc). Has anyone built an aeroplane from this plan? Have you any build photos etc?
  6. Thanks Steve, I should be able to make something from that. Best Regards Steve
  7. Hi Folks Thanks for the info. It all becomes clear now. Simple, really, when you know how. Regards Steve & Donna
  8. Hi Folks When hingeing flying surfaces with mylar hinges, they say you should use cocktail sticks to anchor them. If we are supposed to cover the surfaces before fitting them, how do we avoid a cocktail stick through the covering? Should we fit the surfaces, cover the wing and then slit the covering to free the aileron (elevator, whatever), or what? We operate alone, without a club, etc, so we are working from our own imagination. The truth is out there, but there seems to be a severe lack of CDF in our house. Hope you can help. Regards Steve & Donna.
  9. We are rebuilding an old MFA Yamamoto 1600 (New Yamamoto), the one with the GRP fuselage, not the balsa one. The only thing we're short of is the decal sheet to finish it off. We've been on to MFA/Como who say they can't supply it any more. Does anyone have a decal sheet they can sell us, or does anyone know where we can get one, please? Regards, Steve & Donna
  10. Thanks for your help folks. We've ordered a copy of the magazine so with a bit of luck the plane will be finished soon. It will have electric power, don't know what yet. Regards Steve & Donna
  11. We are building an aircraft called a Steerone, designed by D M Barton. The plan was bought from RCME. Has anyone built this aircraft? What did it fly like? What power did you use? Did RCME ever do a build article on it and, if so, can you supply us with a copy of it please? All input appreciated. Many thanks, Steve & Donna.
