  1. There is of course no definative answer ! One first has to ask the questions: size, weight, power, speed ?   For the most eficient, look at the development of thermal soarers, be they models or full size.   But in the modelling world one has to ask: what are we trying to achieve ? Scale, looks, handling charicterists. Or do we just want a model that will survive the rigors of many flights and being stored in the shed etc. A model that can be carried on the back seat of your Reliant Robin   Its been proven, a lawn mower will fly if the power to weight ratio is right   Each to his - her own.
  2. Another very unusual but very atractive aeroplane is the P39 Aerocobra. I cant say that I have seen this subject modelled for many years. Americans used them only for a very short while in Europe. But they supplied other nations with them, notably the Russians, who had hundreds of them. The P39 Aerocobra is a very interesting plane and would make a worthy subject !   PW.
  3. well i guess everyone will vote for there local model shop .. nearest descent model shop from here is 50 miles away but not having experienced many its hardly fair to vote! Likewise I dont do ARTF.. not that I have anything against it but I prefer building my own from kits or plans. Well I guess its just a 'pull out of the hat' winner..   As sombody mentioned the Wot4 foam-E .. wow you gota laugh !   Keep up the good work RCME .. and a very happy Christmas to all..
  4. How about a 1/4 scale corsair .. now theres a challange
  5. PT 17 .. I remember having a cox control line model of the pt17 back in about 1965 .. It is a very atractive model and not too common .. 75 inch span - 120 four stroke ?? how cool would that be .. a real head turner I think.   PSS Vulcan .. or maybe a vampire again 75 inch span ..   I like large models that fly gracefully ..   Cheers
