Right so I worked out a solution: GEMFAN COMPOSITE PROPELLER 7 X 5 GREY (CCW) The collar between the engine and the prop needs to be replaced with one of the prop adaptors that come with the prop. Other than that, works fine.

All good suggestions but spinner cover wont fit on the wrong handed prop; looks naff without it so will wait for my plan B. Thanks gents,

Thanks, I had ordered what looked like the right one (ignored the HK CS guy) and these fit although they need to be handed ie CCW. Also the collar on the spindle needs to be reduced in thickness but can be achieved by replacing with one of the adaptor rings from the replacement prop. Just thrown my toys out of pram with HK over lack of spares for this; what with the fiasco over battery sizes, CG positions etc, they should have been better prepared. On another forum, they even committed in November to having spares available early December. Does anybody know of a suitable alternative prop, as the spare they suggested wont even fit....seems like 7X5 but the base is quite narrow and thin in order to fit on the shaft.

Popped down on Saturday and met a few of the lads there, really good bunch. Got the gist of hours, boundaries etc so will be down over next few weeks with one of my planes. Was nice to fly my Freewing Mig15 even though it was breezy; so nice to have it landing on flat ground.

Hi John fully respect and ecognise all your comments; I also read up on how the site got to where it was. Am a full member of BMFA ( given all the nonsense caused by irresponsible drone users and the consequences for us all), and I fly nothing but electric (edf at the moment and I don’t push it). It’s been annoyingly breezy this summer but I will try and get down this weekend. When do most people fly?

Have been desperately searching for a place to fly after my location of several years ended up being locked up, for various understandable reasons. I’d heard about the racecourse but never really explored until last week; amazed to see decent cut diamond space in amongst long grass in the centre of the racecourse. Flew my Mig15 easily and plenty of space so looking to take my Freewing SU35 , grass short enough for its big wheels.

I am stepping up from 6 channel EDF to 8 and am building from a Freewing SU35 kit ( I am experienced with EDF kits and electrics and am using the power units etc from my now defunct WingsMaker J11B). Am getting hold of a Spektrum DX8 as the channel capacity plus mixing capability of my DX6i doesnt support, however I would like to find some online guidance on the following: 1. I understand that there neeeds to be some master-slave programming done between the ailerons-elevators-duct and rudder-duct etc; there doesnt seem to be any clear guidance on this, does anyone have any screenshots for a spektrum?

After my (what I thought was straight forward) request for a recommended replacement battery for the 3300 Turnigy Nanotech, its refreshing to see such passion for the subject. I think my conclusion is that its pot luck so I will sort two more of the same spec.

Brian / Steve thanks; any specific battery within those ranges that you would recommend based on the type of battery that I am using currently, and the context eg EDF, fan type etc?

My Turnigy NanoTechs have started to fluff in a big way and Ive noticed a drop in power output on my planes, especially on hand launch; both engines are ChangeSun 12 blade and have been perfect for about 18 months. The batteries are 3300mAh 35-70C and I am now looking for a good equivalent for my Sea Vixen and Vampire as per named powerplant. Could anybody recommend a decent Turnigy or Zippy equivalent?

Thanks for that Stuey, am looking into how best to brace the intakes, something like some lightweight aluminium angles epoxied in would help I suppose?
