  1. Not seen any Boomerangs as a taildragger. Think this option came in with the latest version. Mine was an earlier one. The steerable nose-leg was always a bit iffy and probla-matic. Fixed Nose-leg on grass is really a better option. Looked at a V2 Boomerang manual on line a few days back and noticed the taildragger option which looks interesting. Down to personal choice really. I like taildraggers mainly.
  2. For my money I would always pick the OS over a Saito. I have had a Saito 62 and still have 2 OS52s. No longer have the 62. I really rate the OS55 2 stroke and have 2 of these, 1 in an Acrowot and the 2nd is in a Hangar 9 Corsair 50in. I also have a Boomerang and it ran on an Irvine 46 off grass. Today I would chose an OS46 for it as it suits a 2 stroke and a 55 would be overpowering it. Cheers LPP
  3. Vortex have sent me a photo of the canopy that can be supplied.
  4. I contacted the telephone number from the post above and Steve has now got back to me. Looks as if he did not receive my original email for some reason. So all good. Thanks for all the replies and help. Best to all LPP
  5. Hi all Has anyone had dealings with Vortex recently? I dropped them an email recently but have had no reply. The website has no phone number to contact direct. Keep well everyone LPP
  6. Not heard of iGull before. Thats why this Forum is so useful and informative.
  7. I would chose an OS46 always. But only have an Irvine spare at the moment. Good to have excess power when needed. My Acrowot with an OS55 is hardly ever a full chat except when in a steep climb.
  8. Bang on Peter. Love those cheeks. Always like to be different at the strip. Hence why I don't have a Wot 4 or Acrowot ARTF. I do however have an older kit Acrowot that I refurbished last winter and put a 2 stroke in it (OS55). Goes better than original build with a 4 stroke! I did consider Oodalally however.
  9. Always got a throttle. Full chat is not a target just there when needed. Sounds as if it will suit me, hence my nick-name Low Pass Pete?
  10. Hi Peter. Thanks for info. I have now printed and read the accompanying article which is very helpful. I see that you got the canopy from Vortex Vacuform and it is still quoted it on their website. However it looks as if Micro-Mold where you got the applecheeks are no more so I have been looking to see if any other supplier has a similar item. No luck so far on that, but Carbon Copy look to have suitable undercarriages. I have already looked at Sarik and SLEC ref parts but so far no luck. Looks as if I will be bashing the balsa for the cheeks. I have a spare Irvine 46 (OS red version) so that will probably be the powerplant. Cheers Peter (LPP)
  11. Hopefully yes. In process of contacting SLEC but will have to wait for plan to arrive.
  12. Hi Peter As far as I understand this was one of your designs. Believe published in AMI? I have ordered plan from Doolittle and intend to build he through the winter. Any advice etc would be gratefully received. Cheers LPP
  13. Found it on Outerzone and downloaded it but no idea how to print on A4 from the pdf file. Looks a nice plan and suitable for an Irvine 46 I have spare.
  14. I found this on Outerzone. The quality is not fantastic so I have ordered a copy from Doolittle. No parts available so will have a word with SLEC to see if it is possible to get basic parts cut.
  15. Thanks EarlyBird. Did you order online? Any problems? Not heard of the supplier before but the Dancing Girl has caught my eye for a winter build.
  16. Doolittle Media Shop | Dancing Girl Plan255 (adhpublishing.com) Have come across this plan. Anyone built one or had experience of Doolittle Media shop. Thanks
  17. Hi all I am looking for an OS120 4 stroke, non pumped version if possible. Ideally local in the Cambridgeshire area or nearish as I would prefer to view if possible. Cheers all LPP
  18. What luck my LMS had just what I needed from an old TX. All sorted.
  19. Thanks for the info guys. Agree Dual rate is really a 3 way rate?. Just need to get a switch now. Mind you I very rarely use Rudder rates at all.
  20. Hi all I need to replace the Rudder Dual rate switch on my JR XG8 transmitter. Does anyone have one that could help. Is the Rudder Dual rate switch a 2 or 3 position switch? The old one was damaged on mine and I cannot recall if it was 2 or 3 position. Thanks in advance
