  1. Attempting to get all the equipment underneath leaves the main structure uncluttered and open to adding light weight additions to improve appearance, although at this stage I will be more concerned with the flying qualities and durability.
  2. With the basic fus now glued my thoughts turned to locating the servos ,ESC, RX , battery and U/C mounting points. I have never been a fan of profile fuselages with the equipment stuck all over the sides as it looks so untidily so I decided to have ago at getting all the "stuff " in a false floor . Dealing with the ESC , U/C and rotor servos first by installing two side beams and hard point blocks as shown in the photo. The side beams will be bridged with a GF battery mounting plate but leaving ventilation for the ESC, the four inner blocks will form the hard U/C points. Time will tell if this idea turns out to be functional or results in a rethink !
  3. Got the basic fus glued up this evening , the stock u/c is OK but I may well fabricate a removable twin leg option which will also increase the track and distribute the loads over a wider area. Making the mast core removable was not a problem ,so far its all going well, and could be ready for a maiden by the weekend. Tom.
  4. Adrian the initial batch will be supplied with the well proven HK head parts. Have done some more dry fitting, must admit I have not looked at the instructions yet as its all pretty intuitive so far. I will build this one to allow easy removal of the spruce mast core, as replacing it after glueing would be very difficult. Tom.
  5. Looking at my own photos I think it is clear that the control head will need to be rear facing and not as the photos above show , good job it's a dry fit trial!
  6. You can easily see how the mast cladding and ply doublers will fit.
  7. A dry basic fus trial fit, very simple although I have not quite decided if the control head will be front or rear facing, with this being a prototype I guess AJ have left that to me .
  8. Welcome aboard Adrian, please do not hesitate to ask questions if my ramblings don't make sense. A quick look at the fus construction reveals precision cut joints that locate the fus core halves and floor, a spruce mast core fits neatly into the 1/4 balsa fus core and is ready drilled to attach the the control head. The mast core has pre cut 1/4 balsa to be fitted at the front and rear before adding the ply doublers show in the photo below. From what I have seen so far basic fuselage should go together very quickly as everything pre finished and interlocking.
  9. All the balsa and ply parts are very cleanly CNC cut , and in particular the blades are machined to a very high standard . My fist impressions suggest this is a very high quality kit that could be available at budget price if all goes well with production kits. The delta flex plate has a unique feature that could prove to very helpful , look carefully and you will see the built in shims are adjustable in a way that ensures each blade is identically set to a negative angle, cleaver! My kits came with a comprehensive assembly guide and drawings so the next step will be to identify how things go together and do some dry trail fits. Tom.

  11. Following the establishment of a successful Auto gyro blades production facility the lads at AJ have now ventured into Auto gyro kit production, and sent me a couple of prototype kits for evaluation. Opening the box revealed a very neatly and well packed set of ready cut parts which will be laid out in due course to see just what we have. Tom
  12. The Fun Cub Gyro touching down at the field today.
  13. Although the model flies well the motor is a bit busy sounding at higher throttle settings ,so I ordered a lower KV as there is now loads of ground clearance with the new U/C, It now runs smoothly and quiet right through the throttle range swinging a 13 x 4 . Tom.
