  1. When viewed looking down on the quad and on start-up, only blades 2 and 4 activate. These are followed by blade 3. Blade 4 eventually moves but only slowly, by which time the other propellers are at full chat. What am I doing wrong?
  2. Robin - useful alternative site, many thanks, but I hope we can find something closer.
  3. Has anyone tried to book a holiday with this company. I have sent a number of emails, tried both telephone numbers given on the Contact Us, all to no avail. I am a faltering learner and need better weather to get the practice in, hence my interest in training in the Loire.
  4. Pat - What a splendid site. Thanks for bringing my attention to it. However, I now realise I can't discriminate between a "good" motor/esc/battery and the rest. Like Peter, I could well be tempted to buy OS because of the company's reputation as a high quality glow manufacturer. Not what a ?WHICH subscriber should do! Any advice on sources of appraisal for these things? Chris
  5. Hi, Peter The Kite builds very well and seems a sturdy machine. However, George Woreley (4-Max.co.uk) advised me to consider a more powerful setup than the one I purchased. He suggests a motor, ref PPO 3548 1100, 5s battery PPL 30CS 5000 and ESC PP EESC60AU. I didn't want to abandon my lesser powered setup so purchased a Multiplex Mentor. This flies much better than I do, of course, and when I feel able I will visit George's site again and kit myself up with his recommendation. Do let me know how you get on. Chris
  6. I am reaching the point with the construction of my Flair Kite when I must decide to proceed with the installation of an outrunner, or fit a 52 4-stroke (a more conservative but less interesting option). However, this model is the 1st I have built for more than 50 years and I lack the experience to know the most suitable design for a mounting. My current effort is based on 4mm bolts using the star mounting supplied with the motor, fixed to the firewall. Whilst this system maintains the option of swopping the motor for another, and provides an easy means of altering the thrust line, I am concerned that the potential torque might not be constrained sufficiently.     I would welcome any thoughts or guidance members might be able to offer. And I really am open to the useof a "52" during my learning phase, if that is the collective wisdom!
