  1. Sorry to hear that..   I've seen enuf Youtube vids of Heli's Lipos flying out, that mine are strapped to death..   I always use the rolls of self-adhesive type velcro on the lipo and tray, but the glue can come off the velcro strip, so I also put two velcro straps round the whole lot. The straps I use are available from Maplin.   On Friday, I found the 1300 3s off my foamie, sitting on the bench after it fell off it's velcro, i.e. both bits of velcro still on plane..!! So a little CA usually helps after this happens.. The straps will stop the batt falling off mid-flight, cuz theres still enuf sticky left to stop slippage..   Luv Chrisie.. xx Edited By Cyclicscooby on 20/06/2011 16:56:42 Edited By Cyclicscooby on 20/06/2011 16:57:32
  2. I forgot...   I must say something about about the swapmeet...   Lasy year, my first time at WP, I saw an honest selection of stuff, but my over-riding memory was watching them get kicked, stood-on, dropped, and generally miss-handled my people inside the barrier.. I really wanted to bring my Cessna and Zoom Heli along, but had reservations on Friday nite. What I saw on Saturday, WAS a repeat of last year. I appreciate they were struggling for space, I don't know how else it cud be done, but I still saw 1 stood on, and 2 dropped, and I was in and out in 5 minutes..   Maybe if they'd just had 2 front entrances, and fenced off all the back of the tent, there'd be more room... ??!   Sorry if you guys are here, it's not personal, but I wouldn't leave my stuff there until I was confident this wouldn't happen..     Luv Chrisie... xxEdited By Cyclicscooby on 20/06/2011 16:26:27
  3. Wow.. Some honest opinions there...   I can't help but agree with both the positive and negative comments..   We MUST commend the organisers.. They aren't flying all the planes, or setting the models shops prices.. They do what they can, and the rest is in the inginuity of the pilots, and the generosity of the trade.. So 10 out of 10 to them...   Regards the displays.. It's easy to says it's all the same, but.. 1. There is only SO much a plane can do.. 2. If you've been before, same old, if you're a first time visitor WOW.. !!!!   I only started doing shows 3yrs ago, and admit they can be a bit samy, but I remember watching them for the first time, and I was mezmorised... The size and noise was amazing... I still think watching Ali M is worth the entry on its own.. Who else regulaly see's a 22 foot W/S glider, with a TURBINE, on a retracting pod, hooning around like it didn't cost more than a Ford Focus.. !!!   I was least amused by the prices at the trade stands... Don't get me wrong, there were bargains to be had, but not as many, or on big kits n equipment as I would have liked..   I got 8 bits of 'off-cut' CF for £1 and depron for less than half what I usually pay, but Lipos weren't cheaper.. I saw plenty of Overlander batts at 50p-£1 over RRP..!!   I was looking to buy a DX6i for Pauls Birthday, for his boats (Not for me, so I cud buy BNF's.. No.. Honest.. ) and did get one for £120, but thats only £5 less than online UK shops. I'm not saying it WAS the cheapest, I didn't ask every stand..   All in all, Not quite as good as last year, but the current climate, both financial, and atmospheric, played their part, and it hasn't put me off going next year...     Luv Chrisie... xx
  4. Dont know how techie you are, but I put a proper 2.4Ghz aerial on my Tx as the original is a joke... The aerial was a bnc screw on type, purchased from Maplin..   The range has nearly doubled since. Great for the faster moving Edge, fun, for seeing how high I can get the Certerbria.. LOL..     Luv Chrisie... xx
  5. opps, double post.. Edited By Cyclicscooby on 17/06/2011 18:22:12
  6. Hi John..   I've got one of these too. I remember having trouble binding it to my existing Certerbria Tx.. If I remember corectly, if was a combination of dodgy instructions and me for not reading them properly.. You have to turn the Tx on, whilst pushing one of the stick IN.. ?!   It is fun, but be aware that unlike previous Miniums, this one really needs D/Rs, which you haven't got, so it's 'twitchy'... I also haven't managed inverted very well, but it's still way more powerful than my Certerbria..   HTH's..   Luv Chrisie... xx
  7. Hiya.. Wow.. What a welcome..   Tim - Sorry, I always use Cyclicscooby, I just hadn't got round to changing it.. I use it everywhere, as it's quite distinctive.. Chrisie is gone, long live Cyclicscooby..   David - I thought I recognised your avitar pic.. I flew my shockie (same size as the Extra) last nite, for the first time, so no-doult the Extra will get fixed asap as I get back to grips with a bigger plane (Not a Minium, which I fly regularly)   Hi John H - Guilty.. I haven't visited TN for a long while now... Still truckin, but work is very patchy, hence the plane building..   Wow.. John n Bob.. Two of you, not only know but, use flintstone programming... I enjoyed my days on COBOL. I ended up mostly playing with UNIX, then got fed up with the office environment, left and took my Class 1.. Haven't looked back since..   RE - Heli vs Plane.. I just checked someones post about the Micro Extra 300, where they just let it go in the house, and prop hang.. !! Damn, i've tried and tried on the Sim, and at best, might get a whole second of hanging, before it goes wrong... I appreciate how to do it, but cant orientate myself to whats required...   Maybe if I lay on my back, in the field, I could do it. er.. Prop hang.. . !! LOL.   I have been more successful with high Delta on a Foamie on XTR, but have yet to try for real... Bring on a Heli... LOL..     Luv Chrisie... xx
  8. Hi Mike.   I must admit, CDS has come on alot in the last yr or two. Sharon took on alot, but is doing well, especially for a non flyer.. Dare I say, it's a little unorganised / cluttered compared to most. They really need to get rid of / scale down, the Hornby / Scalextrix section, but the spares on the back wall has been re-organised..   That said, they do have alot of closed-down shop stock thats of varying ages. If you can get past the somewhat high prices (original 80's prices) you can find some vintage spares...   I use it all the time, and Sharon is very helpful. There are loads of full kits 10ft up, all the way round the shop, but mostly full RRP..?!   She's also started stocking Orbit wood, which is way better the the Ripmax stuff..   HTH's   Luv Chrisie... xx
