  1. Hi Danny, Your setup looks impressive! Tell me, the bell crank looks like you have amplified the movement or is it an optical illusion? Could you supply the dimensions so the rest of us could make it? Thanks dennis
  2. Well folks its been a while since I have posted anything but I have finally got a rudder & fin in a condition that I think will be OK! Danny, when you you glue in the hindges or have you done that already? Now on to the the tail plane.
  3. Got mine plus by email a copy of the dials. Brilliant job!! Dennis
  4. Danny, going back to the sheeting/planking stage you refer to amoina to break down the wood fibers. Did you but this specially and if so where you you get it or is a kitchen commodity? by the way NICE JOB!! Dennis
  5. Danny, I know this plan is very old and when it was drawn up the way the flaps & ailerons were operated reflected the equipment available then. Why I ask did you not take the option to install separate servos for each surface? By the way still on the rudder and your work looks marvelous! Dennis
  6. Brilliant work Danny, I'm still in the rudder!! Dennis
  7. KC, Looks like I'm going to find out very soon. Will keep you updated but you will probably know by the amount of requests for help I post!! Good fun this building lark. Up till now its only been model Loco's that I have made. Better keep up my flying practice as I'm still on a trainer!!! Dennis
  8. Thanks Danny, building has recommenced Dennis.
  9. Hi Danny, Not done much for the last couple of days. My plan was to let you get ahead then I could follow with your blog up on screen so assisting when I go wrong. The problem is I still went wrong! Have a quick look at my build blog “Chipmunks for beginners” as I would really appreciate your advice and I don’t want to fill up this blog with all my errors. Many thanks Dennis
  10. Hi All, Its been rather slow progress and I had no problems with the fin but that is where the joy ends! My main reason behind joining this build was to get help and assistance with something I have never completed before. Seeing that I had all the plans, cowls and canopy it was just too good to be true. Well it seems like I don't have the same plan as the rest of you! My equipment was ordered back in the late 90's and is a Chipmunk 1 and does not have all the extra drawings for the Mk2. See the enclosed photo's and compare to Danny's rudder posted on his blog on the 8/10/14 @ 15:05. Is it possible to get the missing dimensions to keep in line with everyone else? I am also having issues around the rudder build. Again from my pictures the ribs from the wood pack are too small and seem to taper from 3/8" to 1/8" between the lower one and the top one. Yet the fin post tapers from 7/8" at the bottom to 9/16" at the top. Are these ribs too thin? Is it best to make new ones of the same thickness of the 1/4" sheet at the front of the rudder? I think that's it so far! And finally it seems I can copy the pictures from my album across into this blog using Internet Explorer and not Firefox.
  11. Hi Terry, I followed the link but nothing happens when I clock on the OK even though my picture is in the RHS box? tried it again, still nothing Dennis
  12. Hi Danny, I've made a start and have created a build blog so everyone can follow my progress. Its called "Chipmunks for beginners" but I had a problem uploading my pictures even though I created an album called Dennis's chipmunk Dennis
  13. Not sure if the above is correct but I could only add these pictures by pasting them into the body of the blog. I did create an album but could not move them across Dennis
