However, I have received your PM to me ( Personal Message ) with your choices, so dont post it here again matey

  9. BUMP Just a nudge about the group meal arrangements earlier in this thread. Any more takers, please let me know here asap. Thanks PS REMEMBER.... you are very welcome to come and join us on the big rock, and the meal after, even if you are not yet a flyer. 10. Posted by kc on 22/08/2016 12:43:42: A wattmeter will save it's cost the first time it saves an ESC! Yup
  11. It had already been stated in the o/p that his friend didnt have a meter. The thead title is motors for beginners keep it simple. Im SIMPLY saying a 9" prop on 72" plain model is too small. Without knowing the exact motor specs - especially max current capabilities Its impossible to be sure. However, most decent sized 950 kv motors ive used or got are fine on a 12"prop and 12v. Mind you - what do I know 😄Edited By Tim Mackey on 21/08/2016 01:53:27
  12. Hi Pete. Personally I would go for a bigger prop - a 72" Model seems rather large for a 9" prop. If he wants to use a 3s lipo (which id recommend ) then on a 960kv motor I would probably prop at at about 12 X 6 or so. I use an 1100 kv motor on a similar setup and its pulling around 38A. 😊
  13. Some great pictures here chaps and chapesses, keep 'em comin! OK Mark, you're added, which makes 21 confirmed so far. Ive booked it for 8:15 pm, X 25 people and have paid the deposit..... so we're going! I'll leave this thread running until the 5th September, and then there will be a new thread on which you simply put your name, and choice of food off the menu, best to give a second choice option of mains, and if possible, the preferred dessert if required. 14. Mr Kettle do I take it that yourself and Helen are partaking in our evening soiree?
  15. Nice shot - was this one of Shonas?
  16. Great pics Shona! - Crikey, I need to get those aileron pushrods concealed on the Spit 19 confirmed so far, so already past my original estimate of 12 - 15 I've spoken with the venue today, and will be calling in over the next couple of days to pay the deposit which will secure our booking Looks like its shaping up to be good turnout, thanks for all those who have committed so far I'll start a separate thread a bit closer to the time, for peeps to declare what food they would like - as a reminder, here's a link again to the menus, so you can get an early idea of whats likely to be on offer. Please DONT post your choice here, I'll start a new thread, or this general thread will get clogged. I can recommend the somewhat different style of Pizzas - a bit of a change to the norm in pizza world. MENU ( this may change slightly before our meal but Ill keep you all informed )     Edited By Tim Mackey on 18/08/2016 22:51:44
  17. TBH Ive only visited twice and the last time was after a refurb and I thought it was quite nice. Its more about finding somewhere that will accomodate us all together. I do use trip advisor and have found that some peeps spout tosh. 😊
  18. OK guys... Phil - do you know if ma and pa woll be joining us?
  19. September meeting 2016 - food and drink. We've had a few snags over the years with the after event catering arrangements, not least places being rammed with no space for all of us to eat together. I've found a decent prospect having eaten there last night, and had a chat with Phil, so here's our proposal. "The Mulberry" at Conwy Marina. ( interesting history to its name incidentally ) Approx 15 - 20 minutes from the Orme, plenty of parking - with overspill park too, large room upstairs in the "Loft" lovely views over the Marina, and they will seat us all together. Reasonable prices, and rather good choice and quality. HOWEVER - I need to put a £30 deposit down, and therefore need a committment from those who will attend. Furthermore, parties of 8+ ( Ive told 'em we will probably number 12 -15 covers ) will have to submit their food choice upfront in order that the establishment can ensure their stocks. I'll take food orders off you later this /next week. Here's the place, and menu is shown in a PDF. Please decide if you will be participating, and POST HERE to confirm ASAP. Timbo.
  20. Hi folks, and let me firstly add my thanks to Phils summary above..... we were truly blessed with a great days flying, and I was especially chuffed if not a little embarrased to have won my first ever PSSA prize for best flown piston powered model. The ex IC S/A Spitfire revelled in the smooth coastal lift and Im sure the recntly added surprise gizmo of a sound generator for engines and gyns had no influence on those who voted Great Pictures Chris Right, so time to sort a few things for our next meeet as mentioned above by Phil. Food and Drink. See the new Title below..... ( It will appear in about 30- mins so please wait ) Edited By Tim Mackey on 15/08/2016 18:38:43
