  3. I was flying yesterday my imagine 50 for the 1st time hoorahh, Well untill my engine just stoped it was running absoultey faultless its a os55 ax max. Anyway i had to dead stick and with this plane you need to keep speed up on landing well it just diddent happen and yes it tip stalled and busted the undercarridge off so a job for me there. So i checked the plane nothing out of sorts was all fine no brown out all pipes connected etc. Then the other two guys flying with me had exactley the same engine cut and dead stick landings 1 ended up in a bush the other just buried itself in the ground from hight lol. Can very cold weather eg like yesterday frost on the ground, very low air temperature have any effect on ic engines cutting all of a sudden?????
  4. Does anybody know how to de shine a h9 spitfire without stripping of the original covering? Somebody told me that a covering of matt fuel profer would do the trick. But to be hounest ive heard a few horror stories about doing that and if the mix of the profer is wrong it wont go of and stay sticky and i dont want to risk doing that. Is there a way to maybe using very fine grain sand papper or something of that sort. Any help with this would be apperciated Cheers Ben.
  5. lol Yes pete happy as a happy thing hahaha sorry diddent know.
  6. Well i am the new owner of a Hanger 9 spitfire with a os 120 fs.Brought second hand and in very good nick.i have just sorted out a few minor build issues witch the previous owner obviously couldent do lol.(dont think he builds very much) Anyway as they say happy as a happy thing. 9. Hi all, Just wondering does anybody here know about VQ models? Im asking because i want to buy the vq hurricane (grey) but looking i can only see that slough models or hobbystores sell them in 46 SIZE only, is this correct because hobbystores price is £119. and i seem to remember slough doing the 46 size for £90 something and im sure you can get them in a 60 size as i want to put a 91 fs in. Cheers for any info, Ben.
  10. To be hounest i think thats going to be my best bet, just take out the old spring air system and put in a set of new electric ones. Cheers Bob.
  11. Hello all, I recentley brought a old hanger 9 p51d yellow tail mustang second hand just for a project all works fine it has a super tiger 90 2stroke up front and air sprung retracts. Now the guy i brought it of gave me a set of retract struts the kind you would find on a smaller model and ofcorse i fitted them in and when the plane is on the ground you can see this model is WAY to heavy for them one landing and they will break. Can anyone suggest a set or does anybody have this older kit ? i have had a look but online but retracts dont realy get the attention they need sometimes on specs lists. Thanks in advance.
  12. Cheers Lee and Glen for your tips.
  13. Axion laser arrow got to be on here, fast, small, and flys a treat also vertical take off!!!
  14. Well i will be ordering prosynth from west just to be sure also as engine doctor says at least its coverd by the warranty. ps I will give every one ear plugs engine doctor haha,no im not part of a club its a small group of like minded people having fun in a field and we cant wait for it to go. pps as your name is engine doctor would you happen to know about the stiffness with the west???? mine is extremley stiff but alan at west reckons bang the starter on it and let her go,now i got a 12v starter and when i did this it spun the spinner 180 degs and it stopped because it was so stiff. I immediatly stopped 1 because i thought it would damage the engine 2 because i thought it might have been the fuel mix.you know how it is new model and all, hence the phone call to west but he said it was normal even if you just try and turn the prop it makes a horrible ginding like the piston is rubbing on the caseing. Anyway ive orded the prosynth and the plane is sitting here looking at me haha. Thanks everyone for your replys ill let you know how i get on
  15. Hello everyone, I have recentley brought a velocity 50 size from weston uk fancied a bit of speed i got the complete packege witch included the west eurotech 52 v1 engine. Now what i really want to know is about the fuel, on weston uks website it says dont use anything other than PROSYNTH2000 i have even spoke to alan at weston who says the same.I have however read a couple of threds on the internet about this and some people are running different fuels with no problems.i have model technics 18%edl2 with sical pro power 10 witch my local model shop said would work fine. So any help with this question would be much appeciated can i use anything other than prosynth in my west 52????
