  1. Hi! Can anyone remember the name of the home-made suspender unit to check C of G, please? I think it was a girls name, but a lot of time has passed. From a ceiling hook it used two underwing loops, with a central plumbob from the hook. I've got one, just want to check I'm using it correctly. Cheers, keep safe all, Den, Abertawe.
  2. Hi, everybody! With the passing of white depron, I have bought some grey depron. I have started to plan a build for the winter, a Short Solent. Because most of the Short flying boats were a white/cream finish, I am faced with the problem of turning grey into white! I have an airbrush, and would like some advice on how to proceed. The initial 'proofing' of the surface is a thorny problem, as I don't want the grey to show through. This appeal for help is for dealing with grey Depron ONLY, NOT foam board, which is a different animal! I hope to cut out all the bits and bobs first, then spray them before assembly, with a final coat as the build approaches its end. Thank you for your help, happy plagueing, keep safe, Den, Abertawe.
  3. Thanks! I've ordered a seqencer from HKing (Global), and expect it within 3 weeks or. Should be ok, then. Keep you posted on progress.
  4. No, I can't see one. I'll try online to see if any are available - a canopy is a bit of swank, but thought it would be nice to get it working. I'll let you know the result. Thanks again.
  5. Thanks, Matty - I'll look for one! I have no experience of these at all, but even I should be able to find one. As usual, the manual assumes the reader is the designer (who only speaks Mandarin!).
  6. Hi, everyone! I'm currently fitting out a Banana Hobby F18, which features electric/servo driven opening and closing. The (continuous action?) servo has only a negative and positive lead - no signal wire. The whole thing drives a captured, threaded bolt to raise and lower the canopy. Does anyone know how this operates, please? I have tried a straightforward 'plug-in' with a Nimh flight battery, with no response. I'm loathe to reverse the polarity to see if it operates, in case I faff it up! Thank you, Den, Abertawe.
  7. Thanks, Steve, for the info.It was very helpful, especially re the edit part. Den, Abertawe.
  8. Hi, everyone - there is a wealth of info on camera and situations with suchlike on the forum, but what I need is examples/combinations of hat cameras for one-person usage. Where I fly, it's not always possible to get someone else to film, so I need a 'hatcam' setup. I know Andrew Newton in Oz has had good success, also Nigel with his Gluen'go Mig 29 down in the Venta area, but wondered if anyone has used maybe a Mobius on a hat, or just a 'cube' type GO cam etc.? Also, any vid examples, please? Cheers, Den, Abertawe.
  9. My apologies to all! Yes, I have a Super Tigre which is glo + stick as per. I also have a 30cc petrol engine from an ultimate that is petroil mix, and has a spark plug. I wanted to know what battery was suitable for the ignition system on the latter, is all. It's old age! P.S. anyone got any good tips for accurately mixing 25:1 petrol:two-stroke ol mix, please? Thank you, everyone, I am getting there, honest!
  10. Thanks, Frank, but I still need to know what the battery is called etc. For example I use some 2200mah 3S batteries for my foamies. They are called '2200mah 3S batteries' - it's the NAME I do't know, please.
  11. No,it is not glo, it has a spark plug thingy!
  12. I've bought one from Just Engines - I am now trying to find out what ignition battery to use - do I need two for the servo/receiver as well as ignition? Cheers, keep safe.
  13. Sorry , David, I'm not sure what a ' power pipe ' is. I'm looking for an exhaust box to fit this engine.
  14. Wow! There is a lot to go at there, Alan, with Bisson Mufflers. They are only 35km from my cousins' place in Humphrey, Ontario, as it happens. GG, I know I can get 'Just Engines' to make one, but I was thinking that another Super Tigre Engine muffler would have the same specs. I'll write to Bisson, and ask them. Thanks, both, Den
  15. Hi! I have a Super Tigre 2000 25cc that I want to use in my Stearman. It was new when I bought it, but with no muffler/exhaust. Can anyone suggest a muffler type that will fit this model engine, please? I cannot find any on sale. Thanks, Den
  16. Thanks, everyone. John , that's ( nearly !) exactly what I am looking for . There are timer delay chips on the market, so I will probably be able to set a circuit up with one as an 'add-on' for triggering during darkness. Allan, that looks good, if a little pricey ! Thanks, everyone, for the input. Keep safe, Den, Cymru
  17. Hi, everyone! here's the pitch this time. A friend of mine was flying his Freewing Mig 21 when it lost signal and went in. The aircraft was observed from 50 yds. away by a member of the public, who is used to seeing the 'planes we fly. Even with this observation, the aircraft cannot be found as the area is one of dense, light growth. I think it went in more or less vertically, and is 'lined up' with the plant stems. It is silver coloured, so it must defo be in deep! 'Blipping' the transmitter is not working in this instance. It's difficult to overfly as it's next to trees. For the future, I am planning to emplace a timed 'brightlight' led circuit, independently of the main battery, so that it switches on after darkness has fallen, thus showing its location. Please don't suggest audio, as I'm hard of hearing ! Does anyone know how to set up a simple timer circuit that will trigger an LED, say, after ten hours ( we fly usually in the morning, so it should light up after dark). Thanks, everyone, Den , Llangyfelach
  18. Thanks, Brian -I'm looking forward to setting it up on the weekend. Den
  19. Thanks for taking the trouble, Simon. I'm not a whizz kid in terms of flying, preferring the middle and lower speed ranges in flight, so it's re-assuring to know that, with care, I'll be able to proceed to enjoy the Flycat (when we are allowed out to play!). Diolch yn fawr eto, Den, Cymru.
  20. That's great, thankyou, everybody - keep safe, happy plagueing (!), Den, Cymru.
  21. Hello, everyone. I've just bought a Hobbyking 'Skycat'. It uses a 6s battery, around 3000 mah (most recommend 3300mah). I see from Youtube videos that the flyers are using a 60-120 C rated 3300mah 6s pack from Turnigy - that, in classic Hobbyking Style, is no longer available/on sale. It has an 80amp esc. I have ordered some Turnigy batteries (6s,3300mah) rated at 25-50C. My knowledge of this area is scant, so I would appreciate any help with this, please. Thanks very much, keep safe everyone, Den , Cymru.
  22. Thanks, everyone. Jon, that makes it very clear, and I can see the sense in that. Diolch eto, Den, Llangyfelach.
