  2. It gets very cold and muddy in the winter! They do struggle doing up the belt though. Alex
  3. Terry, if it makes you feel less guilty, about building whilst inappropriately attired, I have been known to nip into the workshop first thing, after letting the chickens out, wearing only a bathrobe and wellies ! I hope POF makes a swift recovery (and is less disrespectful in future). Alex
  4. I don't have the invoice yet but I was quite a late addition.   Alex Edited By Chris Bott - Moderator on 04/10/2014 17:15:40

    LPP's chippy

Hi LLP, Welcome to the build, it should be good to learning from each other. I am going to pop a Laser 70 in mine too , have you considered getting the fuel tank suitably located for the low carb height? I plan on making a box assembly with a nylon mount, instead of the beech bearers. Kind Regards Alex
  6. Thanks chaps. I'm not sure what I can bring to the party, regarding special skills, apart from a bit of CDO (my wife tells me we are all on the scale somewhere!). Alex
  7. I thought it was about time that I started a thread for my chipmunk. I am coming back to model flying after a break of about 12 years. I have not started flying again, so i will need to blow some cobwebs away. Hopefully it will be a bit like riding a bike but without the sore behind! This build can take as long as it needs, although I am looking forward to the joint endeavor. This aircraft appealed to me as an elegant paint scheme. It was restored by a chap for his flying circus. Here it is! Roll on the 1st of October! Alex
  8. Thanks for the link Monz. I look forward to the next instalment! Alex
  9. Hi Monz, This looks exiting! I enjoyed the big depron jet. Do you mind telling me where you sourced your pins, they look like they wouldn't stab you when you put them in? Regards Alex

    Chip Shop

Me too please, Colin. It would be a very useful piece of the puzzle. On the subject of the undercarriage, I think i will stick with oleos mounted to piano wire stubs. Regards Alex

I have just popped my Hobby King cherry! Those legs look good, I wonder how long they will take to arrive? I also picked up some wheels last week, most of the parts of the puzzle are coming together, I do need to find a suitable IC spinner though. Alex
  12. Hi Nigel, With regard to pegging the hinges, you could drill blind holes from underneath, glue in the pegs, making sure that they are not proud of the surface. To cover, you can use a hole punch to create some nice little discs of covering. I must confess that I have not tried it but in my imagination it might work. Regards Alex

    Chip Shop

I must start a build blog and get my foot in the door. Looking at the picture I added, it looks like its trousers have shrunk in the wash! Alex

The hinges have landed! Thank you very much Danny, your efforts are appreciated. I think I have decided on the subject to model too. All the best. Alex
