  2. Not that I am without appreciation of your suggestion but, they do not have anything else that I need, hence my post!.   Even the number that is in the packet is going to last me a long time.
  3. I need to source some M3 Pan Head Nylon Wing Bolts.   The only place I have found them is on the Modelfixings Web Site. Trouble is their minimum order is £3 and that is a hell of a lot of Bolts.   My local Shops do not have them that small!    Any suggestions as to other sources would be appreciated.      Ron
  4. As it has some red on it, and to use an old Flying term.  How about RedKite or has that already been suggested? Could also be a Slider as it has no U/C!  Ron
  5. Having won the Draw in September for a Pilatus PC-9, the draw prize was the American Version, the Texan II, I found a problem! Although the Build Booklet mentions Electric Motor Plates, both for the suggested Motor, and a blank for the purchasers preference, neither are present!  On contacting the Importers/Distributors, I find that neither are included in any of the Stock they have in their Warehouse!!! It would appear that they do not supply anything in the way of Spares either, in case of Customised arrivals etc. So, if your woodworking skills are suspect you are stumped.  Also, although they mention an IC motor can also be used, there is precious little information for a Novice.  I know one thing certain. Given the choice, and my experience of VMAR, they will not get any of  my Bank Balance going their way in the future.
  6. Going back to crossing over Connections and Smoke etc. by Michael Litherland.  I was told at the outset, that you really should have either a 'Polarised' Connector or, if using Torpedo style ones, put a Male one on the Neutral, and a Female one on the  Positive, on the Battery and the opposite on the ESC.  That way you cannot mix them up!  Brilliant information in this thread  Cheers Ron
  7. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Wonderfull Takeoffs and Superb Landings to all Flying this festive time of the year. Watch out for that old fool in the Red Suit though on the 24th. Full of Christmas cheer, if what we used to leave out for him when I was young is anything to go by. Ron
  8. Have a search on eBay for Sunwise. I use them for Fishing & Shooting, besides RC Flying. They have interchangable Lenses to suit all conditions. No axe to grind, I have NO Connection with them. Just a darn good product at a good price. Assuming you haven't already committed as your post was March 2008. Ron
  9. Not sure if I have entered already, cannot seem to find an entry so, I'm in
  10. Everything comes to he who waits, and waits and waits.........................
  11. Keep on Transmitting. Does it stop me crashing? Got to go for it haven't you!? Go on then, I'm in Ron
  12. The only Texan I will ever be able to afford so here is my bid Ron
  13. Means I will have to buy a larger Engine but, what the heck! R
  14. Oh yes, just what the doctor ordered. Maybe this time I will be lucky! R
  15. Sorry Richard but I have had to use it on the replacement as when I tightened the one which came with the Kalm 60, the threads stripped! I had to use the old Nose Leg also as the one with the Kalm was too short and gave the model a definite nose down attitude when on the ground. Ron
  16. Almost sorted thanks David. Just solving by a process of elimination!  The last job to do is mounting the Engine. Needs a bit of Surgery on the built in engine Bearers and a couple of  'Cutaways' either side if the nose to clear the Manifold and Needle Valve. Not a bad Model but certainly not for a Novice. The Instructions are not clear, and in some cases, extremely vague!  Very little Text and flat, for want of a better word, photographs/illustrations. Thanks anyway. Ron
  17. Anyone have experience of the Kalm Trainer imported by Wholesale Planes? Supposed to be an ARTF but mine is still causing me problems, been at it for over a week. The 'Build' Instructions are a bit of a Joke. Pictures are basically taken through Fog. No suggestion as to the positioning of the Engine, in my case an SC46. God help anyone  finishing one as a first project! R
  18. Basically it is OK in experienced hands!  As far as mine is concerned that is. For a beginner well, you have to be a 'natural' otherwise it zips all over piggin the place! Mine spends more time on the shelf than it has ever done in the air! Think I will use the Batteries for my Leccy Gliders, along with the TX. Guess I could use the 4 in 1 as an Rx also and turn the gain right off! R
