  1. OK thanks for that. Just didn't want to risk causing any damage. Tref.
  2. I just got this sim after reading all the good reports about it on this forum. In the Quickstart guide it says: Spectrum tx (which I have) require that the battery be installed and charged in the tx and the power switch left off. I don't have re chargeable batteries in my tx at this time, just the ordinary batteries that were supplied with it. Does anybody know if it is still ok to use? Thanks, Tref.
  3. I did the same thing last week and burnt two servos. I got some new servos and connected everything up today and everything works just fine so its possible your receiver will be OK. Tref.
  4. I'm pleased to say you were right Alan. Just had my new servos today and connected everything up paying extra attention to the polarity this time. All seems to be working OK so rec. is OK as you predicted. Also decided to use a smart lipo as per Andy Sayles extremely helpful build log for the Elf. Tref.
  5. The plane is from Hyperflight.   I am totally new to this and had never heard of a UBEC. The total weight of the plane is 95 grams so 8g of ubec is probably too much but I don't think it would fit.   I am using the sd100 s as recommended in the build guide as they will work at 8.4v without a regulator.   I've looked at cheaper servos but most that I found only go up to 6v. Pity the sd100 cost so much (especialy when i burn them .   Many thanks for the input Steve.
  6. OK then, I'll have to order some more servos. I got the sd100 s to cope with the 8.4 v from the 2s 180 lipo. Do you think I should get the same or chance something cheaper? Also is there any way to check the receiver is OK without any servos?   Tref.
  7. Wow, hope you're right Alan the receiver was the best part of £60. Can't imagine how you felt burning 8 servos?   Thanks for the input Guys.
  8. Hi, I am building the Elf dlg. I am using the elf 180 lipo, ripmax sd100 x 2 and spektrum ar6255 rec. The problem is I think I got the polarity wrong on the battery connection to the reciever. The servos have both burnt. I'm not sure if the rec. is damaged, if it is this error has cost me about £90. OK I know it's my fault and I feel quite sick about it but as this is my first attempt I really don't want it to put me off. Any help/ advice/support would be most welcome.
