  1. I've been interested in drone flight controllers for a while and was pleased to see a series of articles about using them for aircraft. Can't remember the author but there were at least 2 months of articles. I even assembled a set of parts all ready for the last article describing how to set everything up for a fixed wing aircraft. But I either blinked and missed it or it never appeared. The electronics sit on my bench awaiting for the final set of guidance......
  2. And to be totally fair, once I had submitted the claim , HK refunded my money pretty much instantly. So a happy ending.
  3. Just submitted a claim but using Safari browser the various drop-down selections that are mandatory are not visible! Have to use Chrome instead. Another example of incomplete testing on behalf of HK?
  4. It's from a well known supplier of inexpensive bits - so the chances of a refund are slim....
  5. And the replacement YEP ESC has a strange 'dead-spot' at about 50% thottle when I connect it to my motor. With another ESC the dead spot vanishes. No amount of programming the YEP will get rid of it.
  6. Shame I didn't spot this before wiring it up.
  7. See if you can spot the issue with this YEP 30A ESC. It has nothing to do with the lack of shrink wrap, nor the shortened wires (I cut them off to recycle the parts after i found the ESC was dead) Hint: it doesn't work because someone wasn't paying attention at the factory. And I didn't notice until it was too late!
  8. I did send an email to Chris and when a slightly damaged Skylark was advertised on the Bondaero site (just some decal issues) I bought one. I was particularly impressed with the build quality and wonder why it's not more widely stocked. Sadly I haven't flown it yet but am looking forward to giving it a go.
  9. This plane never wanted to fly. I bought the plans and the woodpack but turns out the plans are not quite right so certain wood parts never did fit. Then I managed to completely smash the wing just before covering as something fell out of the garage cupboard onto it. Then I muddled up the hinge locations for the flaps. I'm surprised that no one has spotted that the slats are missing - these are still being worked on, but it might be a little too late given that I've already covered the wings! And, as you can see the covering is from various scraps that I had, so it's not exactly a looker. Goodness knows whether it will actually fly. But it's good to get it finished at last. Will need my friend to fly this as I've never used flaps before.
  10. The plans show a sprung UC and at the moment I'm hoping to adapt a set from a HK Tundra plane. In the meantime the current set should angle back so that the wheel is close to the CG.
  11. And it's only taken me this long to finally finishing this model! All ready for the maiden flight....
