  1. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.......................
  2. picking up the milk, paper and combustibles from the corner shop on a Sat' morning while you enjoy that well earned lay-in............................
  3. I'm in the market for a new toy and need some advice. It's gotta be leccy , 4ch , and not too big as I have don't have access to large flying sites or storage. Ideally sommat I can put/keep in the boot for when I'm out and about. I really like the carbon cub for it's looks, as3x assistance , the fact I have a few packs to suit already and size but wondered if there was anything else out there of a similar ilk. Opinions please knowledgable peeps. cheers Cliff
  4. Thanks for that. Still considering it but the "bendy wings" comment, and a few others I've managed to find on t'net are maybe pushing me more towards sommat like the riot. Plus the fact that I can use the same packs in that as I use in my heli's and Dogfighter, keeps things a bit easier/cheaper in the long run. Decisions decisions eh.......
  5. Hi all, just after a bit of feedback if there's any available here on theHobbyKing Wilga 2000  **LINK** I'm after something cheap, more forgiving than my UMX Beast and Dogfighter ( not too hard, I know) , looks fairly good (ish) but not too big and this seems to fit the bill. I want to use it to build my flying time relatively safely, let my stepson gain some plank experience ( we're both progressing with heli's but he fancies a dabble like I have ) and maybe as a next step from 3ch for my kids.   Anyone out there got/had one and wouldn't mind sharing your thoughts and views please??   cheers Cliff Edited By Gizwaz on 21/07/2012 13:50:18

  7. Are you putting a small consumer unit in there so you can have lighting and power circuits? If so I'd go for 6mm 3c swa ( 3c gives you an extra core to use as an earth in addition to the armouring) , that way you have the capacity for a little more load if required in future. If not, and you're just gonna have a couple of sockets on a radial with the lighting spurred off then 4mm will suffice. Also do you have an RCD in your fuseboard indoors? as these are invaluable protection and required for protecting any cables that run outside. hth Cliff
  8. Thought I'd better say hi seeing as I registered a few weeks but not posted yet. I'm a relative noob to flying fixed wing but a bit longer in the tooth on rotary. Had a Century Hawk 4 about 11 yrs ago which I learned to hover but before I progressed to ff family and work commitments forced me to sell up. Still had rc models tho as I concentrated on my cars and boats ( much more young family friendly . Fast forward to last year and I got myself a Nine eagles Sky Runner,, which I grew fairly proficient at, and I also got back into heli's with a T-Rex 450 which I quickly got the hang of again, and soon moved on from basic hovering.( also picked up another as a backup so when one went in I could just get the spare out and carry on   Having got the hang of the sky runner I had a hankering for a bigger better plane and after looking round for a while and reading variousreviews in issues of this great mag' I decided on an MPX Dogfighter, which I thought would be ok seeing as I had gained aileron and speed experience from the heli. Turned out to be not too bad a decision as maiden was awesome, and the next few flights too. Then an orientation mis-hap led to a nose first meet with a tree in the orchard next to where I was flying resulting in a written off fuze and wing. Now patiently waiting for them to come back in stock so I can get her in the air again. I also have the umx Beast AS3X, which I've put in once but was soon back in the air, and seeing as it's already happened I'm not so worried about flying it now. Really love the little blighter although I'm only using about 60% rates and loads of expo, just waiting for this nasty weather to abate so I can get back out there practising. Anyway, enuff waffle for now but hope to carry on gleaning as much info as I can from this great font of knowledge, and maybe even contribute to a thread or two. cheer for now Cliff
