  1. I am in Australia, so i was trying to find out on the net first (if i could) before i gave em a ring and ordered.
  2. Hi  I am interested in purchasing the Tony Nijhuis b17 plan, mouldings and CNC wood part kit from myhobbystore.com but before i do, i would like to find out what mouldings and cnc parts are included.  If anyone can help out that would be greatly appreciated.  Also any comments from anyone who has built/building it would be great as well.
  3. Hi fellas  Just thought i'd post a reply and let you know how it all worked out. Firstly, the plane i am tinkering with is a ov-10 bronco that i have built up from some plans.  I thought i mentioned this in first post, but looks like i didn't  Anyways, it had its maiden flight yesterday in some windy conditions at the local field and returned in one piece.  Flys with authority and plenty of power and i should be good for 10-12 minute flights which is plenty for me. I found some 8x6x3 bladed props that give me 36amps full throttle and about 450watts and found myself only using this at take off and for nice steep angle climbouts along with a burst for some loops and barrel rolls.  I like to have more power availalbe than not enough so i am happy in this regard.  So my final flying weight is 2.2kg and i managed to pick up a 3700 25c lipo at the local that is more than enough (read: overkill) for this plane and will probably find itself in something else later on.
  4. Thanks Bruce and Timbo, thats the way I was thinking, but I was hesitant incase I was wrong and supplied double the amps to the poor motor. I also kept second guessing myself as i was getting confused when I was putting two identical test lipos (both 30amps max) in a y configuration, which gives me twice the flight time (like two fuel tanks, to use Bruce's analogy) but still only 30amps max draw (same flow rate). In hindsight I probably worded my question wrong.  I probably should have asked, "how many amps does the battery need to be capable of, to give 30amps to each motor."  The answer being 60amp draw.  Off to buy bigger Lipos next week. It seems my only problem now is finding the right prop combo to get me close to the mark without hitting the fuselage, but at the same time giving me enough power to get the lug of a plane off the ground haha. Thanks for your help guys JJ
  5. Hi, I think i may have over-complicated the situation and confused myself setting up my recently built twin electric plane. I have two identical eflight motors capable of 30amps constant each and approx 370watts each.  I am running two identical castle creations thunderbird 54's capable of approx 50 amps load each.  I have the motors and esc hooking up into a "Y" that is connected to a single lipo.  Now I am confused as to what is the total amps the system can handle.  Is it 30amps all up (single motor limit) or is it doubled 60 (becasue there are two motors) but limited to approx 50amps by the esc limit? I know its probably a very simple answer, but I just can't seem to grasp it in this situation.  I think i am confused becasue i know how it works if its just one motor/esc/battery but not when it is joined together. I am using an emeter to measure at the join where the two esc meet and the lipo plugs in.
  6. Thankyou Chris and Garry, Its a pain being a month behind and building blind so to speak. I was actually thrown of by your picture Garry. I was picturing it like Chris explained when looking at the plan, but when looking at your build photo at the same time I was getting confused. But all is clear now, thanks again.
  7. I have started building this model and as i live in Australia, i have not yet received the next issue which completes the build yet (yes we are slow down here). I am a little stuck with the elevator and rudder detail with the sandwiched sections. Could someone be kind enough to describe this in more detail or even post a photo of this detail. Thanks JJ
  8. Thanks Pat,must say i have never seen it done before, maybe i should get out more often.CHEERS
  9. Hi all Looking at the pictures of the Simplex model i noticed a interesting way of attaching control surface. Can anyone explain this method?
