  1. Really appreciate all the advice I am getting guys. Many thanks to all who have posted their ideas. Graham
  2. The modelshopuk looks very good. Thanks for the link.
  3. Many thanks for your reply Doc. I will give the Pepsi can a try.
  4. I am building a Brian Taylor Gloster Gladiator and the instructions on the plan for building the flaps are to start with 1/64" ply laminated with 'thin' litho plate. If the litho cannot be found does anyone have any idea what I could use in its place? I have absolutely no experience of litho so don't know what it looks or feels like. Thanks Graham
  5. Hi Ernie   Many thanks for the reply. I shall have a good look at diverting air directly to the engine and also enlarging outlets as much as possible.   Graham
  6. I have fitted a MVVS 26 petrol engine (side mounted) to a Chris Foss Xtra Wot but have not yet run it as I keep seeing on different forums that cooling is crucial. I have provided as large an air inlet as posible directly in line with the cylinder head/ carb and opened up the side of the cowl to the same diameter as the head. There is also an air outlet to the rear of the cowl in line with the head. The engine data sheet states that the air outlet should be twice the size as the inlet for adequate cooling but I don't know if this has to be directly in line with the head and if so I can't see how this is possible.   Has anybody any experience of these engines in a cowled installation and the cooling of?   Many thanks   Graham Crossley
  7. Thanks for the info' Wingman. I do have 2.4 radio and the plate with the ignition brick on to be screwed to the firewall so hopefully everything will be ok.
  8. I am fitting an MVVS petrol engine for the first time in an Xtra Wot and there is an extra 'lump' to mount somewhere ie the ignition unit. If fitting it inside the fuselage then a large hole(s) would have to be drilled in the firewall to get the plug connector and timing sensor through. I have fiddled around with this and the best place seems to be to have it mounted on an aluminium plate which is fastened under the side mounted engine.  Does anyone in the know have an opinion as to wether fitting the ignition unit that close to the engine is ok?   Thanks   Graham Crossley
  9. Many thanks for replying Craig & Myron. The ready made at carbon copy is just the job but I never even thought about making my own. The metal part supplied is really not very good so thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Graham
  10. I am building a CMP Swallow EX90 ARTF pattern aircraft and would like to replace the supplied metal fixed landing gear with a carbon fibre type. Does anyone know where these can be purchased? Thanks. Graham Crossley
