  1. Hello all, had a change on decision with powering the spitfire! decided to know go with electric power. Any recomendations and set ups would be good. Thanks
  2. Hello, Yeah any advise is more than welcome   I had the idea to mount in wing section from another topflite spitfire build i was watching. Thought it would distribute weight better.   Does anyone have any idea how long the pressure stays in the tank for on the air retracts? The way mine works it leaks a small amount of air every time its operated through the switch valve. Edited By Nickaliath on 29/06/2013 11:54:38
  3. Hello, Yeah it is still on going although i havent done much on it for a while. I am intending to do a bit more on it this weekend.
  4. Hello all, As i had a day off today, I managed to get a bit done on the build. Got the cowl mountings fitted and cowl fitting better. Made a mounting up for the servo that controls the air valve on the retract setup. Need to get some fuel proof paint, if anyone can recommend a supplier in UK.
  5. good luck with p51 Sorry for lack of posting recently, Ive been waiting for better weather to get outside and continue build
  6. What weight fibreglass do people tend to use? I was thinking of using a couple layers of fibreglass tissue?
  7. I have decided to keep the wings seperate & also have the original spit wings Shaunie - when you start building make sure you start a build thread, I enjoy looking at other topflite spitfire builds
  8. Whats the opinions on a clipped wing version? like the later spits.?
  9. Couple of update images attached with parts tried up to each other. Got most of the retract air lines and fittings in the wing assembly. Found that i have trimmed the canopy edge lip off too much! But on the flip side should be able to make it look more realistic this way. Edited By Nickaliath on 05/11/2012 21:33:30
  10. Ok, I will stick with the plans The main reason for fixing was to make it as seemless as possible
  11. Hello all, Im currently toying with the idea of fixing the wings on my topflite spitfire build instead of having them removable. The only thing im worried about is geting to the parts inside. I know i can make access panels on the plane to help get to the parts. Whats the general opinion on this? has anyone done it?
  12. Sorry havent posted for a while, been busy with other stuff recently. Has anyone ever fixed the wings to the fuselage on these models, Instead of being able to seperate them? Im thinking of doing this just a bit worried about getting to parts inside the panels.   I have done a bit more since the last photos, I will try and post up more tomorow. 13. Couple of update photos. Managed to get most of the lower fuselage skins on just got some bits to do at back end. i have now also fitted the air tank and lines for the retracts. PRE LOWER SKIN PHOTO BELOW.
  14. well i stupidly tried to connect the 2 pin battery up to the battery port on the receiver!! I dont know why i did it and its the sort of thing you say why did i even try it! LOL Maybe thats the reason? i may have fried all the electrics including servos! I even tried another 35MHZ receiver i have spare and it does the same to that!
